Jeremiah 38:1-6 Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying,

2 H559 Thus says H3068 the Lord, H3427 He that remains H5892 in this city H4191 shall die H2719 by the sword, H7458 by the famine, H1698 and by the pestilence: H3318 but he that goes forth H3778 to the Chaldeans H2421 shall live; H5315 for he shall have his life H7998 for a prey, H2421 and shall live.

3 H559 Thus says H3068 the Lord, H5892 This city H5414 shall surely H5414 be given H3027 into the hand H4428 of the king H894 of Babylon's H2428 army, H3920 which shall take it.

4 H8269 Therefore the princes H559 said H4428 unto the king, H376 We beg you, let this man H4191 be put to death: H3651 for thus H7503 he weakens H3027 the hands H582 of the men H4421 of war H7604 that remain H5892 in this city, H3027 and the hands H5971 of all the people, H1696 in speaking H1697 such words H376 unto them: for this man H1875 seeks H7965 not the welfare H5971 of this people, H7451 but the hurt.

H953 And in the dungeon H4325 there was no water, H2916 but mire: H3414 so Jeremiah H2883 sunk H2916 in the mire.
