Jeremiah 21 The word which came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, when king Zedekiah sent unto him Pashur the son of Melchiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, saying,

1 H1697 The word H3414 which came unto Jeremiah H3068 from the Lord, H4428 when king H6667 Zedekiah H7971 sent H6583 unto him Pashur H1121 the son H4441 of Melchiah, H6846 and Zephaniah H1121 the son H4641 of Maaseiah H3548 the priest, H559 saying,

2 H1875 Inquire, H3068 I pray you, of the Lord H1157 for us; H5019 for Nebuchadrezzar H4428 king H894 of Babylon H3898 makes war H3068 against us; if so be that the Lord H6213 will deal H6381 with us according to all his wondrous works, H5927 that he may go up from us.

3 H559 Then said H3414 Jeremiah H559 unto them, Thus shall you say H6667 to Zedekiah:

4 H559 Thus says H3068 the Lord H430 God H3478 of Israel; H5437 Behold, I will turn back H3627 the weapons H4421 of war H3027 that are in your hands, H3898 with which you fight H4428 against the king H894 of Babylon, H3778 and against the Chaldeans, H6696 which besiege H2351 you outside H2346 the walls, H622 and I will assemble H8432 them into the midst H5892 of this city.

5 H3898 And I myself will fight H5186 against you with a outstretched H3027 hand H2389 and with a strong H2220 arm, H639 even in anger, H2534 and in fury, H1419 and in great H7110 wrath.

6 H5221 And I will strike H3427 the inhabitants H5892 of this city, H120 both man H929 and animal: H4191 they shall die H1419 of a great H1698 pestilence.

7 H310 And afterward, H5002 says H3068 the Lord, H5414 I will deliver H6667 Zedekiah H4428 king H3063 of Judah, H5650 and his servants, H5971 and the people, H7604 and such as are left H5892 in this city H1698 from the pestilence, H2719 from the sword, H7458 and from the famine, H3027 into the hand H5019 of Nebuchadrezzar H4428 king H894 of Babylon, H3027 and into the hand H341 of their enemies, H3027 and into the hand H1245 of those that seek H5315 their life: H5221 and he shall strike H6310 them with the edge H2719 of the sword; H2347 he shall not spare H2550 them, neither have pity, H7355 nor have mercy.

8 H5971 And unto this people H559 you shall say, H559 Thus says H3068 the Lord; H5414 Behold, I set H6440 before H1870 you the way H2416 of life, H1870 and the way H4194 of death.

9 H3427 He that stays H5892 in this city H4191 shall die H2719 by the sword, H7458 and by the famine, H1698 and by the pestilence: H3318 but he that goes out, H5307 and falls H3778 to the Chaldeans H6696 that besiege H2421 you, he shall live, H5315 and his life H7998 shall be unto him for a prey.

10 H7760 For I have set H6440 my face H5892 against this city H7451 for evil, H2896 and not for good, H5002 says H3068 the Lord: H5414 it shall be given H3027 into the hand H4428 of the king H894 of Babylon, H8313 and he shall burn H784 it with fire.

11 H1004 And touching the house H4428 of the king H3063 of Judah, H8085 say, Hear H1697 you the word H3068 of the Lord;

12 H1004 O house H1732 of David, H559 thus says H3068 the Lord; H1777 Execute H4941 judgment H1242 in the morning, H5337 and deliver H1497 him that is spoiled H3027 out of the hand H6231 of the oppressor, H2534 lest my fury H3318 go out H784 like fire, H1197 and burn H3518 that none can quench H6440 it, because H7455 of the evil H4611 of your doings.

13 H3427 Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant H6010 of the valley, H6697 and rock H4334 of the plain, H5002 says H3068 the Lord; H559 which say, H5181 Who shall come down H935 against us? or who shall enter H4585 into our habitations?

14 H6485 But I will punish H6529 you according to the fruit H4611 of your doings, H5002 says H3068 the Lord: H3341 and I will kindle H784 a fire H3293 in the forest H398 there, and it shall devour H5439 all things round about it.
