Deuteronomy 2 Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as the Lord spoke unto me: and we encircled mount Seir many days.

1 H6437 Then we turned, H5265 and took our journey H4057 into the wilderness H1870 by the way H5488 of the Red H3220 sea, H3068 as the Lord H1696 spoke H5437 unto me: and we encircled H2022 mount H8165 Seir H7227 many H3117 days.

2 H3068 And the Lord H559 spoke H559 unto me, saying,

3 H5437 You have encircled H2022 this mountain H7227 long enough: H6437 turn H6828 you northward.

4 H6680 And command H5971 you the people, H559 saying, H5674 You are to pass H1366 through the coast H251 of your brothers H1121 the sons H6215 of Esau, H3427 which live H8165 in Seir; H3372 and they shall be afraid H3966 of you: take you good H8104 care unto yourselves therefore:

5 H1624 Meddle H5414 not with them; for I will not give H776 you of their land, H7272 no, not so much as a foot H4096 breadth; H5414 because I have given H2022 mount H8165 Seir H6215 unto Esau H3425 for a possession.

6 H7666 You shall buy H400 food H3701 of them for money, H398 that you may eat; H3739 and you shall also buy H4325 water H3701 of them for money, H8354 that you may drink.

7 H3068 For the Lord H430 your God H1288 has blessed H4639 you in all the works H3027 of your hand: H3045 he knows H3212 your walking H1419 through this great H4057 wilderness: H705 these forty H8141 years H3068 the Lord H430 your God H2637 has been with you; you have lacked H1697 nothing.

8 H5674 And when we passed H251 by from our brothers H1121 the sons H6215 of Esau, H3427 which lived H8165 in Seir, H1870 through the way H6160 of the plain H359 from Elath, H6100 and from Ezion–gaber, H6437 we turned H5674 and passed H1870 by the way H4057 of the wilderness H4124 of Moab.

9 H3068 And the Lord H559 said H6696 unto me, Bother H4124 not the Moabites, H1624 neither contend H4421 with them in battle: H5414 for I will not give H776 you of their land H3425 for a possession; H5414 because I have given H6144 Ar H1121 unto the sons H3876 of Lot H3425 for a possession.

10 H368 The Emims H3427 lived H6440 in it in times past, H5971 a people H1419 great, H7227 and many, H7311 and tall, H6062 as the Anakims;

11 H1992 Which H2803 also were accounted H7497 giants, H6062 as the Anakims; H4125 but the Moabites H7121 call H368 them Emims.

12 H2752 The Horims H3427 also lived H8165 in Seir H6440 before; H1121 but the sons H6215 of Esau H3423 succeeded H8045 them, when they had destroyed H6440 them from before H3427 them, and lived H3478 in their stead; as Israel H6213 did H776 unto the land H3425 of his possession, H3068 which the Lord H5414 gave unto them.

13 H6965 Now rise up, H5674 said I, and get you over H5158 the brook H2218 Zered. H5674 And we went over H5158 the brook H2218 Zered.

15 H3027 For indeed the hand H3068 of the Lord H2000 was against them, to destroy H7130 them from among H4264 the host, H8552 until they were consumed.

16 H582 So it came to pass, when all the men H4421 of war H8552 were consumed H4191 and dead H7130 from among H5971 the people,

17 H3068 That the Lord H1696 spoke H559 unto me, saying,

18 H5674 You are to pass over H6144 through Ar, H1366 the coast H4124 of Moab, H3117 this day:

19 H7126 And when you come near H4136 over against H1121 the sons H5983 of Ammon, H6696 bother H1624 them not, nor meddle H5414 with them: for I will not give H776 you of the land H1121 of the sons H5983 of Ammon H3425 any possession; H5414 because I have given H1121 it unto the sons H3876 of Lot H3425 for a possession.

20 H2803 (That also was accounted H776 a land H7497 of giants: H7497 giants H3427 lived H6440 in it in old time; H5984 and the Ammonites H7121 call H2157 them Zamzummims;

21 H5971 A people H1419 great, H7227 and many, H7311 and tall, H6062 as the Anakims; H3068 but the Lord H8045 destroyed H6440 them before H3423 them; and they succeeded H3427 them, and lived in their stead:

22 H6213 As he did H1121 to the sons H6215 of Esau, H3427 which lived H8165 in Seir, H8045 when he destroyed H2752 the Horims H6440 from before H3423 them; and they succeeded H3427 them, and lived H3117 in their stead even unto this day:

23 H5761 And the Avims H3427 which lived H2699 in Hazerim, H5804 even unto Azzah, H3732 the Caphtorims, H3318 which came forth H3731 out of Caphtor, H8045 destroyed H3427 them, and lived in their stead.)

24 H6965 Rise you up, H5265 take your journey, H5674 and pass over H5158 the river H769 Arnon: H7200 behold, H5414 I have given H3027 into your hand H5511 Sihon H567 the Amorite, H4428 king H2809 of Heshbon, H776 and his land: H2490 begin H3423 to possess H1624 it, and contend H4421 with him in battle.

25 H3117 This day H2490 will I begin H5414 to put H6343 the dread H3374 of you and the fear H6440 of you upon the nations H8064 that are under the whole heaven, H8085 who shall hear H8088 report H7264 of you, and shall tremble, H2342 and be in anguish H6440 because of you.

26 H7971 And I sent H4397 messengers H4057 out of the wilderness H6932 of Kedemoth H5511 unto Sihon H4428 king H2809 of Heshbon H1697 with words H7965 of peace, H559 saying,

27 H5674 Let me pass H776 through your land: H3212 I will go H1870 along by the high way, H5493 I will neither turn H3225 unto the right hand H8040 nor to the left.

28 H7666 You shall sell H400 me food H3701 for money, H398 that I may eat; H5414 and give H4325 me water H3701 for money, H8354 that I may drink: H5674 only I will pass through H7272 on my feet;

29 H1121 (As the sons H6215 of Esau H3427 which live H8165 in Seir, H4125 and the Moabites H3427 which live H6144 in Ar, H6213 did H5674 unto me;) until I shall pass over H3383 Jordan H776 into the land H3068 which the Lord H430 our God H5414 gives us.

30 H5511 But Sihon H4428 king H2809 of Heshbon H14 would H5674 not let us pass H3068 by him: for the Lord H430 your God H7185 hardened H7307 his spirit, H3824 and made his heart H553 obstinate, H5414 that he might deliver H3027 him into your hand, H3117 as appeared this day.

31 H3068 And the Lord H559 said H7200 unto me, Behold, H2490 I have begun H5414 to give H5511 Sihon H776 and his land H6440 before H2490 you: begin H3423 to possess, H3423 that you may inherit H776 his land.

32 H5511 Then Sihon H3318 came out H7125 against H5971 us, he and all his people, H4421 to fight H3096 at Jahaz.

33 H3068 And the Lord H430 our God H5414 delivered H6440 him before H5221 us; and we struck H1121 him, and his sons, H5971 and all his people.

34 H3920 And we took H5892 all his cities H6256 at that time, H2763 and utterly destroyed H4962 the men, H802 and the women, H2945 and the little ones, H5892 of every city, H7604 we left H8300 none to remain:

35 H929 Only the cattle H962 we took for a prey H7998 unto ourselves, and the plunder H5892 of the cities H3920 which we took.

36 H6177 From Aroer, H8193 which is by the bank H5158 of the river H769 of Arnon, H5892 and from the city H5158 that is by the river, H1568 even unto Gilead, H7151 there was not one city H7682 too strong H3068 for us: the Lord H430 our God H5414 delivered H6440 all unto us:

37 H776 Only unto the land H1121 of the sons H5983 of Ammon H7126 you came H3027 not, nor unto any place H5158 of the river H2999 Jabbok, H5892 nor unto the cities H2022 in the mountains, H3068 nor unto whatever the Lord H430 our God H6680 forbid us.
