1 Corinthians 11:20-34

BLB(i) 20 Therefore, of you coming together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord’s supper. 21 For in eating, one takes first the own supper. And indeed this one is hungry, but that one is drunken. 22 What! Have you no houses in which to eat and to drink? Or do you despise the church of God and put to shame those having nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you! 23 For I received from the Lord that which also I delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed, took bread, 24 and having given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 Likewise also the cup after having supped, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you might drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 26 For as often as you may eat this bread and may drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He should come. 27 Therefore whoever should eat the bread or should drink the cup of the Lord unworthily will be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and in this manner let him eat of the bread, and let him drink of the cup. 29 For the one eating and drinking not discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself. 30 Because of this, many are weak and sick among you, and many are fallen asleep. 31 For if we were judging ourselves, we would not come under judgment. 32 But being judged by the Lord, we are disciplined, so that we should not be condemned with the world. 33 So then, my brothers, coming together in order to eat, wait for one another. 34 If anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, so that you might not come together for judgment; and I will set in order the other things as soon as I might come.
