John 2:1-11

BIB(i) 1 Καὶ (And) τῇ (on the) ἡμέρᾳ (day) τῇ (-) τρίτῃ (third) γάμος (a wedding) ἐγένετο (took place) ἐν (in) Κανὰ (Cana) τῆς (-) Γαλιλαίας (of Galilee), καὶ (and) ἦν (was) ἡ (the) μήτηρ (mother) τοῦ (-) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus) ἐκεῖ (there). 2 ἐκλήθη (Was invited) δὲ (then) καὶ (also) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) μαθηταὶ (disciples) αὐτοῦ (of Him) εἰς (to) τὸν (the) γάμον (wedding). 3 καὶ (And) ὑστερήσαντος (having been deficient) οἴνου (of wine), λέγει (says) ἡ (the) μήτηρ (mother) τοῦ (-) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus) πρὸς (to) αὐτόν (Him), “Οἶνον (Wine) οὐκ (not) ἔχουσιν (they have).” 4 Καὶ (And) λέγει (says) αὐτῇ (to her) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Τί (What) ἐμοὶ (to Me) καὶ (and) σοί (to you), γύναι (woman)? οὔπω (Not yet) ἥκει (is come) ἡ (the) ὥρα (hour) μου (of Me).” 5 Λέγει (Says) ἡ (the) μήτηρ (mother) αὐτοῦ (of Him) τοῖς (to the) διακόνοις (servants), “Ὅ (Whatever) τι (anyhow) ἂν (-) λέγῃ (He may say) ὑμῖν (to you), ποιήσατε (do).” 6 Ἦσαν (There were) δὲ (now) ἐκεῖ (there) λίθιναι (of stone), ὑδρίαι (water jars) ἓξ (six), κατὰ (according to) τὸν (the) καθαρισμὸν (purification) τῶν (of the) Ἰουδαίων (Jews), κείμεναι (standing), χωροῦσαι (having space) ἀνὰ (for) μετρητὰς (metretae) δύο (two) ἢ (or) τρεῖς (three). 7 λέγει (Says) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Γεμίσατε (Fill) τὰς (the) ὑδρίας (jars) ὕδατος (with water).” Καὶ (And) ἐγέμισαν (they filled) αὐτὰς (them) ἕως (up to) ἄνω (the brim). 8 Καὶ (And) λέγει (He says) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Ἀντλήσατε (Draw out) νῦν (now) καὶ (and) φέρετε (carry) τῷ (to the) ἀρχιτρικλίνῳ (master of the feast).” Οἱ (-) δὲ (And) ἤνεγκαν (they carried it). 9 ὡς (When) δὲ (then) ἐγεύσατο (had tasted) ὁ (the) ἀρχιτρίκλινος (master of the feast) τὸ (the) ὕδωρ (water) οἶνον (wine) γεγενημένον (having become), καὶ (and) οὐκ (not) ᾔδει (he knew) πόθεν (from where) ἐστίν (it is)— οἱ (the) δὲ (however) διάκονοι (servants) ᾔδεισαν (knew) οἱ (-) ἠντληκότες (having drawn) τὸ (the) ὕδωρ (water)— φωνεῖ (calls) τὸν (the) νυμφίον (bridegroom) ὁ (the) ἀρχιτρίκλινος (master of the feast) 10 καὶ (and) λέγει (says) αὐτῷ (to him), “Πᾶς (Every) ἄνθρωπος (man) πρῶτον (first) τὸν (the) καλὸν (good) οἶνον (wine) τίθησιν (sets out), καὶ (and) ὅταν (when) μεθυσθῶσιν (they might have drunk freely), τὸν (the) ἐλάσσω (inferior); σὺ (you) τετήρηκας (have kept) τὸν (the) καλὸν (good) οἶνον (wine) ἕως (until) ἄρτι (now).” 11 Ταύτην (This) ἐποίησεν (did), ἀρχὴν (the beginning) τῶν (of the) σημείων (signs), ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ἐν (in) Κανὰ (Cana) τῆς (-) Γαλιλαίας (of Galilee), καὶ (and) ἐφανέρωσεν (He revealed) τὴν (the) δόξαν (glory) αὐτοῦ (of Him), καὶ (and) ἐπίστευσαν (believed) εἰς (in) αὐτὸν (Him) οἱ (the) μαθηταὶ (disciples) αὐτοῦ (of Him).
