Judges 13 And the children of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah; and Jehovah delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.

1 H1121 And the children H3478 of Israel H3254 again H6213 did H7451 that which was evil H5869 in the sight H3068 of Jehovah; H3068 and Jehovah H5414 delivered H3027 them into the hand H6430 of the Philistines H705 forty H8141 years.

2 H259 And there was a certain H376 man H6881 of Zorah, H4940 of the family H1839 of the Danites, H8034 whose name H4495 was Manoah; H802 and his wife H6135 was barren, H3205 and bare not.

3 H4397 And the angel H3068 of Jehovah H7200 appeared H802 unto the woman, H559 and said H6135 unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, H3205 and bearest H2029 not; but thou shalt conceive, H3205 and bear H1121 a son.

4 H8104 Now therefore beware, H8354 I pray thee, and drink H3196 no wine H7941 nor strong drink, H398 and eat H2931 not any unclean thing:

5 H2030 for, lo, thou shalt conceive, H3205 and bear H1121 a son; H4177 and no razor H5927 shall come H7218 upon his head; H5288 for the child H5139 shall be a Nazirite H430 unto God H990 from the womb: H2490 and he shall begin H3467 to save H3478 Israel H3027 out of the hand H6430 of the Philistines.

6 H802 Then the woman H935 came H559 and told H376 her husband, H559 saying, H376 A man H430 of God H935 came H4758 unto me, and his countenance H4758 was like the countenance H4397 of the angel H430 of God, H3966 very H3372 terrible; H7592 and I asked H5046 him not whence he was, neither told H8034 he me his name:

7 H559 but he said H2030 unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, H3205 and bear H1121 a son; H7941 and now drink H3196 no wine H8354 nor strong drink, H398 and eat H2932 not any unclean H5288 thing; for the child H5139 shall be a Nazirite H430 unto God H990 from the womb H3117 to the day H4194 of his death.

8 H4495 Then Manoah H6279 entreated H3068 Jehovah, H559 and said, H994 Oh, H3068 Lord, H4994 I pray thee, let H376 the man H430 of God H7971 whom thou didst send H935 come again H3384 unto us, and teach H6213 us what we shall do H5288 unto the child H3205 that shall be born.

9 H430 And God H8085 hearkened H6963 to the voice H4495 of Manoah; H4397 and the angel H430 of God H935 came again H802 unto the woman H3427 as she sat H7704 in the field: H4495 but Manoah H376 her husband was not with her.

10 H802 And the woman H4116 made haste, H7323 and ran, H5046 and told H376 her husband, H559 and said H376 unto him, Behold, the man H7200 hath appeared H935 unto me, that came H3117 unto me the other day.

11 H4495 And Manoah H6965 arose, H3212 and went H310 after H802 his wife, H935 and came H376 to the man, H559 and said H376 unto him, Art thou the man H1696 that spakest H802 unto the woman? H559 And he said, I am.

12 H4495 And Manoah H559 said, H1697 Now let thy words H935 come to pass: H4941 what shall be the ordering H5288 of the child, H4639 and how shall we do unto him?

13 H4397 And the angel H3068 of Jehovah H559 said H4495 unto Manoah, H559 Of all that I said H802 unto the woman H8104 let her beware.

14 H398 She may not eat H3318 of anything that cometh H1612 of the vine, H8354 neither let her drink H3196 wine H8354 or strong drink, H398 nor eat H2932 any unclean H6680 thing; all that I commanded H8104 her let her observe.

15 H4495 And Manoah H559 said H4397 unto the angel H3068 of Jehovah, H6113 I pray thee, let us detain H6213 thee, that we may make ready H1423 a kid H6440 for thee.

16 H4397 And the angel H3068 of Jehovah H559 said H4495 unto Manoah, H6113 Though thou detain H398 me, I will not eat H3899 of thy bread; H518 and if H6213 thou wilt make ready H5930 a burnt-offering, H6213 thou must offer H3068 it unto Jehovah. H4495 For Manoah H3045 knew H4397 not that he was the angel H3068 of Jehovah.

17 H4495 And Manoah H559 said H4397 unto the angel H3068 of Jehovah, H8034 What is thy name, H1697 that, when thy words H935 come to pass, H3513 we may do thee honor?

18 H4397 And the angel H3068 of Jehovah H559 said H7592 unto him, Wherefore askest H8034 thou after my name, H6383 seeing it is wonderful?

19 H4495 So Manoah H3947 took H1423 the kid H4503 with the meal-offering, H5927 and offered H6697 it upon the rock H3068 unto Jehovah: H6213 and the angel did H6381 wondrously, H4495 and Manoah H802 and his wife H7200 looked on.

20 H3851 For it came to pass, when the flame H5927 went up H8064 toward heaven H4196 from off the altar, H4397 that the angel H3068 of Jehovah H5927 ascended H3851 in the flame H4196 of the altar: H4495 and Manoah H802 and his wife H7200 looked on; H7200 and they fell on H6440 their faces H776 to the ground.

21 H4397 But the angel H3068 of Jehovah H3254 did no more H7200 appear H4495 to Manoah H802 or to his wife. H4495 Then Manoah H3045 knew H4397 that he was the angel H3068 of Jehovah.

22 H4495 And Manoah H559 said H802 unto his wife, H4191 We shall surely H4191 die, H7200 because we have seen H430 God.

23 H802 But his wife H559 said H3863 unto him, If H3068 Jehovah H2654 were pleased H4191 to kill H3947 us, he would not have received H5930 a burnt-offering H5930 and a meal-offering H3027 at our hand, H7200 neither would he have showed H6256 us all these things, nor would at this time H8085 have told H2063 such things as these.

24 H802 And the woman H3205 bare H1121 a son, H7121 and called H8034 his name H8123 Samson: H5288 and the child H1431 grew, H3068 and Jehovah H1288 blessed him.

25 H7307 And the Spirit H3068 of Jehovah H2490 began H6470 to move H4264 him in H1835 Mahaneh-dan, H6881 between Zorah H847 and Eshtaol.
