1 Samuel 3

  1 H5288 And the child H8050 Samuel H8334 ministered H3068 unto Jehovah H6440 before H5941 Eli. H1697 And the word H3068 of Jehovah H3368 was precious H3117 in those days; H6555 there was no frequent H2377 vision.
  2 H3117 And it came to pass at that time, H5941 when Eli H7901 was laid down H4725 in his place H5869 (now his eyes H2490 had begun H3544 to wax dim, H3201 so that he could H7200 not see),
  3 H5216 and the lamp H430 of God H3518 was not yet gone out, H8050 and Samuel H7901 was laid down to H1964 sleep, in the temple H3068 of Jehovah, H727 where the ark H430 of God was;
  4 H3068 that Jehovah H7121 called H8050 Samuel; H559 and he said, Here am I.
  5 H7323 And he ran H5941 unto Eli, H559 and said, H2009 Here am I; H7121 for thou calledst H559 me. And he said, H7121 I called H7901 not; lie down H7725 again. H3212 And he went H7901 and lay down.
  6 H3068 And Jehovah H7121 called H3254 yet again, H8050 Samuel. H8050 And Samuel H6965 arose H3212 and went H5941 to Eli, H559 and said, H7121 Here am I; for thou calledst H559 me. And he answered, H7121 I called H1121 not, my son; H7901 lie down H7725 again.
  7 H8050 Now Samuel H2962 did not yet H3045 know H3068 Jehovah, H1697 neither was the word H3068 of Jehovah H1540 yet revealed unto him.
  8 H3068 And Jehovah H7121 called H8050 Samuel H3254 again H7992 the third time. H6965 And he arose H3212 and went H5941 to Eli, H559 and said, H7121 Here am I; for thou calledst H5941 me. And Eli H995 perceived H3068 that Jehovah H7121 had called H5288 the child.
  9 H5941 Therefore Eli H559 said H8050 unto Samuel, H3212 Go, H7901 lie down: H7121 and it shall be, if he call H559 thee, that thou shalt say, H1696 Speak, H3068 Jehovah; H5650 for thy servant H8085 heareth. H8050 So Samuel H3212 went H7901 and lay down H4725 in his place.
  10 H3068 And Jehovah H935 came, H3320 and stood, H7121 and called H6471 as at other times, H8050 Samuel, H8050 Samuel. H8050 Then Samuel H559 said, H1696 Speak; H5650 for thy servant H8085 heareth.
  11 H3068 And Jehovah H559 said H8050 to Samuel, H6213 Behold, I will do H1697 a thing H3478 in Israel, H8147 at which both H241 the ears H8085 of every one that heareth H6750 it shall tingle.
  12 H3117 In that day H6965 I will perform H5941 against Eli H1696 all that I have spoken H413 concerning H1004 his house, H2490 from the beginning H3615 even unto the end.
  13 H5046 For I have told H8199 him that I will judge H1004 his house H5704 for H5769 ever, H5771 for the iniquity H3045 which he knew, H1121 because his sons H7043 did bring a curse H3543 upon themselves, and he restrained them not.
  14 H7650 And therefore I have sworn H1004 unto the house H5941 of Eli, H5771 that the iniquity H5941 of Eli's H1004 house H3722 shall not be expiated H2077 with sacrifice H4503 nor offering H5704 for H5769 ever.
  15 H8050 And Samuel H7901 lay H1242 until the morning, H6605 and opened H1817 the doors H1004 of the house H3068 of Jehovah. H8050 And Samuel H3372 feared H5046 to show H5941 Eli H4759 the vision.
  16 H5941 Then Eli H7121 called H8050 Samuel, H559 and said, H8050 Samuel, H1121 my son. H559 And he said, Here am I.
  17 H559 And he said, H1697 What is the thing H1696 that Jehovah hath spoken H3582 unto thee? I pray thee, hide H430 it not from me: God H6213 do so H3254 to thee, and more also, H3582 if thou hide H1697 anything H1697 from me of all the things H1696 that he spake unto thee.
  18 H8050 And Samuel H5046 told H1697 him every whit, H3582 and hid H559 nothing from him. And he said, H3068 It is Jehovah: H6213 let him do H5869 what seemeth H2896 him good.
  19 H8050 And Samuel H1431 grew, H3068 and Jehovah H1697 was with him, and did let none of his words H5307 fall H776 to the ground.
  20 H3478 And all Israel H1835 from Dan H884 even to Beer-sheba H3045 knew H8050 that Samuel H539 was established H5030 to be a prophet H3068 of Jehovah.
  21 H3068 And Jehovah H7200 appeared H3254 again H7887 in Shiloh; H3068 for Jehovah H1540 revealed H8050 himself to Samuel H7887 in Shiloh H1697 by the word H3068 of Jehovah.
