2 Kings 12 In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Zibiah of Beersheba.

1 H7651 In the seventh H8141 year H3058 of Jehu H3060 Jehoash H4427 began to reign; H705 and forty H8141 years H4427 reigned H3389 he in Jerusalem. H517 And his mother’s H8034 name H6645 was Zibiah H884 of Beersheba.

2 H3060 And Jehoash H6213 did H3477 that which was right H5869 in the sight H3068 of the LORD H3605 all H3117 his days H834 wherein H3111 Jehoiada H3548 the priest H3384 instructed him.

3 H1116 But the high H5493 places were not taken H5493 away: H5971 the people H5750 still H2076 sacrificed H6999 and burnt H6999 incense H1116 in the high places.

4 H3060 And Jehoash H559 said H3548 to the priests, H3605 All H3701 the money H6944 of the dedicated H935 things that is brought H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD, H3701 even the money H3605 of every H5674 one that passes H3701 the account, the money H5315 that every man H6187 is set H3605 at, and all H3701 the money H5927 that comes H5921 into H376 any man’s H3820 heart H935 to bring H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD,

5 H3548 Let the priests H3947 take H376 it to them, every man H4378 of his acquaintance: H2388 and let them repair H919 the breaches H1004 of the house, H834 wherever H8033 H376 any H919 breach H4672 shall be found.

6 H7969 But it was so, that in the three H6242 and twentieth H8141 year H4428 of king H3060 Jehoash H3548 the priests H2388 had not repaired H919 the breaches H1004 of the house.

7 H4428 Then king H3060 Jehoash H7121 called H3111 for Jehoiada H3548 the priest, H3548 and the other priests, H559 and said H4069 to them, Why H2388 repair H919 you not the breaches H1004 of the house? H6258 now H3947 therefore receive H408 no H3701 more money H4378 of your acquaintance, H5414 but deliver H919 it for the breaches H1004 of the house.

8 H3548 And the priests H225 consented H3947 to receive H1115 no H3701 more money H5971 of the people, H1115 neither H2388 to repair H919 the breaches H1004 of the house.

9 H3111 But Jehoiada H3548 the priest H3947 took H727 a chest, H5344 and bored H2356 a hole H1817 in the lid H5414 of it, and set H681 it beside H4196 the altar, H3225 on the right H3225 side H376 as one H935 comes H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD: H3548 and the priests H8104 that kept H5592 the door H5414 put H8033 therein H3605 all H3701 the money H935 that was brought H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD.

10 H7200 And it was so, when they saw H7225 that there was much H3701 money H727 in the chest, H4428 that the king’s H5608 scribe H1419 and the high H3548 priest H5927 came H6696 up, and they put H6696 up in bags, H4487 and told H3701 the money H4672 that was found H1004 in the house H3068 of the LORD.

11 H5414 And they gave H3701 the money, H8505 being told, H5921 into H3027 the hands H6213 of them that did H4399 the work, H6485 that had the oversight H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD: H3318 and they laid H6086 it out to the carpenters H1129 and builders, H6213 that worked H1004 on the house H3068 of the LORD,

12 H1443 And to masons, H2672 and hewers H68 of stone, H7069 and to buy H6086 timber H4274 and hewed H68 stone H2388 to repair H919 the breaches H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD, H3605 and for all H3318 that was laid H1004 out for the house H2393 to repair it.

13 H6213 However, there were not made H1004 for the house H3068 of the LORD H5592 bowls H3701 of silver, H4212 snuffers, H4219 basins, H2689 trumpets, H3627 any vessels H2091 of gold, H3627 or vessels H3701 of silver, H3701 of the money H935 that was brought H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD:

14 H5414 But they gave H6213 that to the workmen, H4399 H2388 and repaired H1004 therewith the house H3068 of the LORD.

15 H2803 Moreover they reckoned H582 not with the men, H5921 into H834 whose H3027 hand H5414 they delivered H3701 the money H5414 to be bestowed H6213 on workmen: H4399 H6213 for they dealt H530 faithfully.

16 H817 The trespass H3701 money H3701 and sin money H935 was not brought H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD: H3548 it was the priests’.

17 H227 Then H2371 Hazael H4428 king H758 of Syria H5927 went H3898 up, and fought H5921 against H1661 Gath, H3920 and took H2371 it: and Hazael H7760 set H6440 his face H5927 to go H3389 up to Jerusalem.

18 H3060 And Jehoash H4428 king H3063 of Judah H3947 took H3605 all H6944 the hallowed H3092 things that Jehoshaphat, H3088 and Jehoram, H274 and Ahaziah, H1 his fathers, H4428 kings H3063 of Judah, H6942 had dedicated, H6944 and his own hallowed H3605 things, and all H2091 the gold H4672 that was found H214 in the treasures H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD, H4428 and in the king’s H1004 house, H7971 and sent H2371 it to Hazael H4428 king H758 of Syria: H5927 and he went H3389 away from Jerusalem.

19 H3499 And the rest H1697 of the acts H3101 of Joash, H3605 and all H6213 that he did, H3789 are they not written H5612 in the book H1697 of the chronicles H3117 H4428 of the kings H3063 of Judah?

20 H5650 And his servants H6965 arose, H7195 and made a conspiracy, H5221 and slew H3101 Joash H1004 in the house H4407 of Millo, H3381 which goes H3381 down H5538 to Silla.

21 H3108 For Jozachar H1121 the son H8100 of Shimeath, H3075 and Jehozabad H1121 the son H7763 of Shomer, H5650 his servants, H5221 smote H4191 him, and he died; H6912 and they buried H1 him with his fathers H5892 in the city H1732 of David: H558 and Amaziah H1121 his son H4427 reigned H8478 in his stead.
