5 And the light shines in the darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for witness, to bear witness of the light, that through him all might believe.
8 He was not the light; but [came] to bear witness of the light.
9 There was the true light, which lights every man that comes into the world.
