2 Thessalonians 2

ABU(i) 1 Now we beseech you, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, 2 that ye be not hastily shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter, as through us, as that the day of the Lord is at hand. 3 Let not any one deceive you in any manner; because [that day will not come], except there come first the falling away, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 he that opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholds, in order that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity is already working; only until he who now withholds shall be out of the way. 8 And then will the Lawless One be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will consume with the breath of his mouth, and will destroy with the manifestation of his coming; 9 [him,] whose coming is after the working of Satan, in all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 and in all deceit of unrighteousness for those who perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God sends them a working of delusion, in order that they may believe the lie; 12 that they may all be judged, who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you to salvation, in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth; 14 whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 So then, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye were taught, whether by word, or by our letter. 16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God and our Father, who loved us, and gave us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17 encourage your hearts, and establish you in every good work and word.
