Jeremiah 39

  1 G2532 And G1096 it came to pass G1722 in G3588 the G2094 [²year G3588   G1766 ¹ninth] G3588   G* of Zedekiah G935 king G* of Judah, G1722 in G3588 the G3376 [²month G3588   G1181 ¹tenth], G3854 came G* Nebuchadnezzar G935 king G* of Babylon G2532 and G3956 all G3588   G1411 his force G1473   G1909 against G* Jerusalem, G2532 and G4171.2 they assaulted G1473 it.

  2 G2532 And G1722 in G3588 the G1734 eleventh G2094 year G3588   G* of Zedekiah, G1722 in G3588 the G3376 [²month G3588   G5067 ¹fourth], G1766 ninth G3588 of the G3376 month, G4486 [³was broken asunder G3588 ¹the G4172 ²city].

  3 G2532 And G1525 [⁶entered G3956 ¹all G3588 ²the G2232 ³governors G935 ⁴of the king G* ⁵of Babylon] G2532 and G2523 sat G1722 at G4439 the gate, G3588 the one G3319 in the middle, G* Nergal-sharezer, G* Samgar, G2532 and G* Nebo-sarsechim, G2532 and G* Nebu-sarkes G2532 and G* Nergal, G* Sharezer, G* Rab-mag, G2532 and G3588 the G2645 rest G2232 of the governors G935 of the king G* of Babylon.

  4 G2532 And G1096 it came to pass G5613 as G1492 [⁴saw G1473 ⁵them G* ¹Zedekiah G935 ²king G* ³of Judah], G2532 and G3956 all G3588 the G435 men G4170.3 warriors, G2532 that G5343 they fled G2532 and G1831 went forth G3571 at night G1537 from G3588 the G4172 city G2596 according to G3588 the G3598 way G2779 of the garden G3588 of the G935 king G1223 through G3588 the G4439 gate G303.1 between G3588 the G5038 wall G2532 and G3588 the G4385.1 fortification around the wall. G2532 And G1831 they went forth G1223 by G3588 the G3598 way G* of Araba.

  5 G2532 And G2614 [⁵pursued G3588 ¹the G1411 ²force G3588 ³of the G* ⁴Chaldeans] G3694 after G1473 them. G2532 And G4815 they seized G3588   G* Zedekiah G1722 on G3588 the G4008 other side G* of Jericho, G2532 and G71 they led G1473 him G4314 to G* Nebuchadnezzar G935 king G* of Babylon G1519 to G* Riblah G3588 the city G1722 in G3588 the G1093 land G* of Hamath. G2532 And G3004 he spoke G1473 against him G3326 with G2920 judgment.

  6 G2532 And G4969 [⁴slew G3588 ¹the G935 ²king G* ³of Babylon] G3588 the G5207 sons G* of Zedekiah G1722 in G* Riblah G2596 before G3788 his eyes; G1473   G2532 and G3956 all G3588 the G758 rulers G* of Judah G4969 he slew.

  7 G2532 And G3588 the G3788 eyes G* of Zedekiah G1626.4 he blinded. G2532 And G1210 he bound G1473 him G1722 with G3976 shackles, G2532 and G71 he led G1473 him G1519 unto G* Babylon.

  8 G2532 And G3588 the G3624 house G3588 of the G935 king, G2532 and G3588 the G3624 houses G3588 of the G2992 people G1705.1 [³set on fire G3588 ¹the G* ²Chaldeans] G1722 with G4442 fire, G2532 and G3588 the G5038 wall G* of Jerusalem G2507 they demolished.

  9 G2532 And G3588 the G4053 extra G3588 of the G2992 people, G2532 and G3588 the ones G2641 being left behind G1722 in G3588 the G4172 city, G2532 and G3588 the ones G1706 falling in -- G3739 these, G1706 they fell G4314 to G3588 the G935 king G* of Babylon.

  10 G2532 And G3588 the G3062 rest G3588 of the G2992 people, G2532 and G3588 the ones G2641 being left behind G3332 [⁴removed G* ¹Nabuzar-adan G3588 ²the G749.3 ³chief guard] G1519 unto G* Babylon. G2532 And G1537 of G3588 the G4434 poor G3588 of the G2992 people, G3739 the ones who G3756 were not G1510.7.3   G3762 anything, G2641 [⁴left behind G* ¹Nabuzar-adan G3588 ²the G749.3 ³chief guard] G1722 in G1093 the land G* of Judah. G2532 And G1325 he gave G1473 to them G290 vineyards G2532 and G68 fields G1722 in G3588   G2250 that day. G1565  

  11 G2532 And G1781 [⁴gave charge G* ¹Nebuchadnezzar G935 ²king G* ³of Babylon] G5228 concerning G3588   G* Jeremiah G1722 in G5495 the hand G* of Nebuzar-adan G3588 the G749.3 chief guard, G3004 saying,

  12 G2983 Take G1473 him G2532 and G5087 put G3588   G3788 your eyes G1473   G1909 upon G1473 him! G2532 and G3361 you should not G4160 do G1473 to him G3762 anything G2556 bad; G235 but G2531 as G2980 it should be said G4314 to G1473 you, G3779 thus G4160 you shall do G1473 for him!

  13 G2532 And G649 [⁴sent G* ¹Nabuzar-adan G3588 ²the G749.3 ³chief guard], G2532 and G* Nabushasban G2532 and G* Rab-sares G2532 and G* Nergel G2532 and G* Sharezer G2532 and G* Rab-mag G2532 and G3956 all G3588 the G2232 governers G935 of the king G* of Babylon.

  14 G2532 And G649 they sent G2532 and G2983 took G3588   G* Jeremiah G1537 from out of G833 the courtyard G3588 of the G5438 guard, G2532 and G1325 they gave G1473 him G4314 to G3588   G* Gedaliah G5207 son G* of Ahikam G5207 son G* of Shaphan, G2532 and G1806 they led him out. G1473   G2532 And G2523 he sat G1722 in G3319 the midst G3588 of the G2992 people.

  15 G2532 And G4314 to G* Jeremiah G1096 came G3056 the word G2962 of the lord G1722 in G3588 the G833 courtyard G3588 of the G5438 guard, G3004 saying,

  16 G4198 Go G2532 and G2036 speak G4314 to G* Ebed-melech G3588 the G* Ethiopian! G3004 saying, G3779 Thus G2036 said G2962 the lord G3588   G2316 God G* of Israel, G2400 Behold, G1473 I G5342 bring G3588   G3056 my words G1473   G1909 upon G3588   G4172 this city G3778   G1519 for G2556 bad things, G2532 and G3756 not G1519 for G18 good things . G2532 And G1510.8.6 they shall be G1799 before G1473 you G1722 in G3588   G2250 that day. G1565  

  17 G2532 And G4982 I shall deliver G1473 you G1722 in G3588   G2250 that day, G1565   G3004 says G2962 the lord, G2532 and G3756 I will not G1325 give G1473 you G1519 into G5495 the hands G3588 of the G444 men G3739 whom G1473 you G5399 fear G575 from G4383 their face. G1473  

  18 G3754 For G4982 by delivering, G4982 I shall deliver G1473 you, G2532 and G1722 by G4501 the broadsword G3766.2 in no way G4098 shall you fall. G2532 And G1510.8.3 [²will be G3588   G5590 ¹your life] G1473   G1519 for G2146.2 gain, G3754 for G3982 you relied G1909 upon G1473 me, G5346 says G2962 the lord .
