Jeremiah 34:1-35:19 The word coming to Jeremiah from the lord when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his encamped army, and to all the kingdoms of the earth, to the ones under the dominion of his hand, all the peoples waged war against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah, saying,

2 G3779 Thus G2036 said G2962 the lord, G3588 the G2316 God G* of Israel, G897.2 Proceed G4314 to G* Zedekiah G935 king G* of Judah! G2532 and G2046 you shall say G1473 to him, G3779 Thus G2036 said G2962 the lord, G3862 In delivering up, G3860 I shall deliver up G3588 G4172 this city G3778 G1519 into G5495 the hands G935 of the king G* of Babylon, G2532 and G4815 he shall seize G1473 it, G2532 and G2545 shall burn G1473 it G1722 with G4442 fire.

3 G2532 And G1473 you G3766.2 in no way G4982 shall be delivered G1537 from out of G5495 his hand; G1473 G2532 and G4816.1 by seizure G4815 you shall be seized, G2532 and G1519 into G5495 his hands G1473 G1325 you shall be given; G2532 and G3588 G3788 your eyes G1473 G3588 G3788 [²his eyes G1473 G3708 ¹shall see] G2532 and G3588 G4750 his mouth G1473 G3326 [²with G3588 G4750 ³your mouth G1473 G2980 ¹shall speak], G2532 and G1519 into G* Babylon G1525 you shall enter.

4 G235 But G191 hear G3588 the G3056 word G2962 of the lord, G* Zedekiah, G935 O king G* of Judah! G3779 Thus G3004 says G2962 the lord G4314 to G1473 you, G3756 you shall not die G599 G1722 by G4501 the broadsword.

5 G1722 In G1515 peace G599 you shall die, G2532 and G5613 as G1572 they burned odors G3588 G3962 for your fathers G1473 G3588 G936 reigning G4387 prior G1473 of you, G1572 so they shall burn G2532 also G1473 for you, saying, G5599 O G2962 Lord. G2532 And G2875 they shall lament G1473 you, G3754 for G3056 [³ the word G1473 ¹I G2980 ²spoke], G2036 said G2962 the lord .

6 G2532 And G2980 Jeremiah spoke G* G4314 to G3588 G935 king G* Zedekiah G3956 all G3588 G3056 these words G3778 G1722 in G* Jerusalem.

7 G2532 And G3588 the G1411 force G935 of the king G* of Babylon G4170 waged war G1909 against G* Jerusalem, G2532 and G1909 against G3588 the G4172 cities G* of Judah, G3588 the ones G2641 remaining, G2532 and G1909 against G* Lachish, G2532 and G1909 against G* Azekah, G3754 for G3778 these G2641 were left G1722 among G4172 the cities G* of Judah -- G4172 [²cities G3793.1 ¹fortified].

8 G3588 The G3056 word G3588 G1096 coming G4314 to G* Jeremiah G3844 by G2962 the lord, G3326 after G3588 the G4931 completing G3588 by G935 king G* Zedekiah G1242 the covenant G4314 with G3588 the G2992 people, G3588 the one G1722 in G* Jerusalem, G3588 G2564 to call G1211 indeed G859 for a release;

9 G3588 G1821 [²to send out G1538 ¹for each] G3588 G3816 his manservant, G1473 G2532 and G1538 each G3588 G3814 his maidservant, G1473 G3588 the G* Hebrew man G2532 and G3588 the G* Hebrew woman G1658 free, G4314 so that G3588 G3361 no G1398 [⁴should slave G435 ¹man G1537 ²from G* ³Judah].

10 G2532 And G1873 [⁴heeded G3956 ¹all G3588 ²the G3175 ³great men], G2532 and G3956 all G3588 the G2992 people, G3588 the ones G1525 entering G1519 into G3588 the G1242 covenant G3588 G649 to send G1538 each G3588 G3816 his manservant G1473 G2532 and G1538 each G3588 G3814 his maidservant G1473 G1658 free, G3588 to G3361 not G1398 serve G2089 any more G1722 to G1473 them. 11 G2532 And G1994 they were turned G3326 after G3778 these things, G2532 and G321 they led G3588 the G1401 bondmen G2532 and G3588 the G3814 maidservants G3739 whom G649 they sent G1658 free, G2532 and G5293 they subjected G1473 them again G1519 as G3816 manservants G2532 and G3814 maidservants.

12 G2532 And G1096 came to pass G3056 the word G2962 of the lord G4314 to G* Jeremiah, G3004 saying,

13 G3779 Thus G2036 said G2962 the lord G3588 G2316 God G* of Israel, G1473 I G1303 ordained G1242 a covenant G4314 with G3588 G3962 your fathers G1473 G1722 in G3588 the G2250 day G3739 in which G1807 I rescued G1473 them G1537 from out of G1093 the land G* of Egypt, G1537 from out of G3624 the house G1397 of slavery, G3004 saying,

14 G3752 Whenever G4137 [³should be fulfilled G1803 ¹six G2094 ²years], G649 you shall send free G3588 G80 [³brother G1473 ¹your G3588 G* ²Hebrew], G3739 who G4097 shall be sold G1473 to you; G2532 and G2038 he shall work G1473 for you G1803 six G2094 years, G2532 and then G1821 you shall send him out G1473 G1658 free. 17 G1223 On account of G3778 this, G3779 thus G2036 said G2962 the lord, G1473 You G3756 hearkened not to G191 G1473 me G3588 G2564 to call G859 a release -- G1538 each G4314 for G3588 G80 his brother, G1473 G2532 and G1538 each G4314 for G3588 G4139 his neighbor. G1473 G2400 Behold, G1473 I G2564 call G859 a release G1473 to you -- G1519 to G3162 the sword, G2532 and G1519 to G3588 the G2288 plague, G2532 and G1519 to G3588 the G3042 famine; G2532 and G1325 I will give G1473 you G1519 for G1290 dispersion G3956 unto all G3588 the G932 kingdoms G3588 of the G1093 earth.

18 G2532 And G1325 I will give G3588 the G435 men, G3588 the ones G3928 passing G3588 G1242 my covenant, G1473 G3588 the ones G3361 not G2476 establishing G3588 G1242 my covenant, G1473 G3739 which G4160 they made G2596 in front of me, G4383 G1473 G3588 the G3448 calf G3739 which G2875 they cut G1519 in G1417 two G3313 parts, G2532 and G1330 I went through G1722 in G3319 the midst G3588 G3313 of its parts, G1473

19 G3588 of the G758 rulers G* of Judah, G2532 and G758 rulers G* of Jerusalem, G2532 and G1413 mighty ones, G2532 and G2409 priests, G2532 and G3956 all G3588 the G2992 people G3588 of the G1093 land;

20 G2532 and G1325 I will give G1473 them G3588 to G2190 their enemies, G1473 G2532 and G1519 into G5495 the hand G2212 of ones seeking G3588 G5590 their life. G1473 G2532 And G1510.8.3 [²will be G3588 G2347.1 ¹their decaying flesh] G1473 G1035 food G3588 to the G4071 winged creatures G3588 of the G3772 heaven, G2532 and G3588 to the G2342 wild beasts G3588 of the G1093 earth.

21 G2532 And G3588 G* Zedekiah G935 king G3588 G* of Judea, G2532 and G3588 G758 his rulers G1473 G1325 I will give G1519 into G5495 the hands G2190 of their enemies, G1473 G2532 and G1519 into G5495 the hands G2212 of ones seeking G3588 G5590 their life, G1473 G2532 and G1519 into G5495 the hands G1411 of the force G935 of the king G* of Babylon -- G3588 to the ones G665.1 running G575 from G1473 them.

22 G2400 Behold, G1473 I G4929 order it, G5346 says G2962 the lord; G2532 and G1994 I will return G1473 them G1519 into G3588 G4172 this city. G3778 G2532 And G4170 they shall wage war G1909 against G1473 her, G2532 and G2983 shall take G1473 her, G2532 and G2618 shall incinerate G1473 her G1722 in G4442 fire; G2532 and G3588 the G4172 cities G* of Judah -- G1325 I will make G1473 them G1519 for G4.2 untrodden G575 of G2730 ones dwelling.

2 G897.2 Proceed G1519 unto G3614 the family G* of the Rechabites, G2532 and G2564 call G1473 them, G2532 and G71 you shall bring G1473 them G1519 into G3624 the house G2962 of the lord, G1519 into G1520 one G3588 of the G833 courtyards, G2532 and G4222 give them [²to drink G1473 G3631 ¹wine].

3 G2532 And G71 he led G3588 G* Jaazaniah G5207 son G* of Jeremiah, G5207 son G* of Habaziniah, G2532 and G3588 G80 his brethren, G1473 G2532 and G3588 G5207 his sons, G1473 G2532 and G3956 all G3588 the G3614 family G* of the Rechabites;

5 G2532 And G2476 I set G2596 in front of G4383 G1473 them G2765 a clay vessel G3631 of wine, G2532 and G4221 cups, G2532 and G2036 I said, G4095 Drink G3631 wine!

6 G2532 And G2036 they said, G3766.2 In no way G4095 should we drink G3631 wine, G3754 for G* Jonadab G5207 son G* of Rechab G3588 G3962 our father G1473 G1781 gave charge G1473 to us, G3004 saying, G3766.2 In no way G4095 shall you drink G3631 wine, G1473 you G2532 and G3588 G5207 your sons G1473 G2193 unto G3588 the G165 eon.

7 G2532 And G3614 [³houses G3766.2 ¹in no way way G3618 ²shall you build], G2532 nor G4690 [³seed G3766.2 ¹in any way G4687 ²shall you sow], G2532 and G290 a vineyard G3756 shall not be G1510.8.3 G1473 to you; G3754 for G1722 in G4633 tents G2730 you shall dwell G3956 all G3588 G2250 your days, G1473 G3704 so G302 that G2198 you should live G2250 [²days G4183 ¹many] G1909 upon G3588 the G1093 land, G1909 upon G3739 which G1304 you spend your time G1473 G1909 upon G1473 it.

8 G2532 And G1522 we hearkened to G3588 the G5456 voice G* of Jonadab G5207 son G* of Rechab G3588 G3962 our father G1473 G1722 in G3956 all things G3739 which G1781 he gave charge to G1473 us, G4314 to G3588 G3361 not G4095 drink G3631 wine G3956 all G3588 the G2250 days G3588 G2222 of our life, G1473 G1473 we, G2532 and G3588 G1135 our wives, G1473 G2532 and G3588 G5207 our sons, G1473 G2532 and G3588 G2364 our daughters; G1473

9 G4314 for G3588 G3361 to not G3618 build G3614 houses G3588 G2730 to dwell in G1563 there, G2532 and G290 a vineyard G2532 and G68 a field, G2532 and G4690 seed -- G3756 it happened not G1096 G1473 to us.

10 G2532 And G3611 we lived G1722 in G4633 tents, G2532 and G191 we hearkened, G2532 and G4160 did G2596 according to G3956 all G3745 as much as G1781 [³gave charge G1473 ⁴to us G* ¹Jonadab G3588 G3962 ²our father]. G1473

11 G2532 And G1096 it came to pass G3753 when G305 [⁴ascended G* ¹Nebuchadnezzar G935 ²king G3588 G* ³of Babylon] G1909 upon G3588 the G1093 land, G2532 and G2036 we said, G305 In ascending G1525 we shall enter G1519 into G* Jerusalem G575 from G4383 in front G3588 of the G* Chaldeans, G2532 and G575 from G4383 in front G3588 of the G1411 force G3588 of the G* Assyrians. G2532 And G3611 we lived G1563 there.

12 G2532 And G1096 came to pass G3056 the word G2962 of the lord G4314 to G1473 me, G3004 saying,

13 G3779 Thus G3004 says G2962 the lord G3588 of the G1411 forces, G3588 the G2316 God G* of Israel, G4198 Go G2532 and G2036 say G444 to the man G* of Judah! G2532 and G3588 to the ones G2730 dwelling G* Jerusalem. G3766.2 In no way G2983 will you take G3809 instruction G191 to hear G3588 G3056 my word, G1473 G3004 says G2962 the lord .

14 G2476 [⁵established G4487 ⁶ the word G5207 ¹ The sons G* ²of Jonadab G5207 ³son G* ⁴of Rechab], G3588 the one G1781 given charge G3588 to G5043 his children G1473 G4314 to G3588 G3361 not G4095 drink G3631 wine; G2532 and G3756 they drank not G4095 G2193 unto G3588 G2250 this day, G3778 G3754 for G191 they hearkened to G3588 the G1785 command G3588 G3962 of their father. G1473 G2532 And G1473 I G2980 spoke G4314 to G1473 you G3722 early, G2532 and G2980 I spoke G2532 and G3756 you did not G191 hearken.

15 G2532 And G649 I sent G4314 to G1473 you G3588 G3816 my servants G1473 G3588 the G4396 prophets G3719 rising early G4404 in the morning G2532 and G649 sending, G3004 saying, G654 Let [²turn G1538 ¹each] G575 from G3588 G3598 [³way G1473 ¹his G3588 G4190 ²evil]! 16 G2532 But G2476 [⁵established G5207 ¹ the sons G* ²of Jonadab G5207 ³son G* ⁴of Rechab] G3588 the G1785 commandment G3588 G3962 of their father, G1473 G3739 which G1781 he gave charge to G1473 them. G3588 G1161 But G2992 this people G3778 G3756 [³not G191 ¹heard G1473 ²me].

17 G1223 On account of G3778 this, G3779 Thus G2036 said G2962 the lord G3588 of the G1411 forces, G3588 the G2316 God G* of Israel, G2400 Behold, G1473 I G5342 bring G1909 upon G* Judah, G2532 and G1909 upon G3588 the ones G2730 dwelling G* Jerusalem G3956 all G3588 the G2556 bad things G3739 which G2980 I spoke G1909 against G1473 them. G1360 For G2980 I spoke G1473 to them G2532 and G3756 they hearkened not. G191 G2532 And G2564 I called G1473 them, G2532 and G3756 they did not answer. G611

18 G2532 And G3588 to the G3624 house G3588 of the G* Rechabites, G2036 Jeremiah said, G* G3779 Thus G2036 said G2962 the lord, G1894 Since G191 [⁵hearkened to G5207 ¹ the sons G* ²of Jonadab G5207 ³son G* ⁴of Rechab] G3588 the G1785 commandment G3588 G3962 of their father, G1473 G4160 to do G2530 in so far as G1781 [²gave charge G1473 ³to them G3588 G3962 ¹their father]; G1473 G1223 on account of G3778 this G3779 thus G3004 says G2962 the lord G3588 of the G1411 forces, G3588 the G2316 God G* of Israel,

19 G3766.2 No way G1587 shall there fail G435 a man G3588 of the G5207 sons G* of Jonadab G5207 son G* of Rechab G3936 standing G2596 in front G4383 G1473 of me G3956 all G3588 the G2250 days.
