Exodus 5:1-23

  1 G2532 And G3326 after G3778 these things G1525 [⁴entered G* ¹Moses G2532 ²and G* ³Aaron] G4314 to G* Pharaoh, G2532 and G2036 they said G1473 to him, G3592 Thus G3004 says G2962 the lord G3588   G2316 God G* of Israel. G1821 Send forth G3588   G2992 my people! G1473   G2443 that G1473 they may solemnize a holiday to me G1858   G1722 in G3588 the G2048 wilderness.

  2 G2532 And G2036 Pharaoh said, G*   G5100 Who G1510.2.3 is he, G3739 of whom G1522 I will listen to G3588   G5456 his voice G1473   G5620 so as G1821 to send out G3588 the G5207 sons G* of Israel?   4 G2532 And G2036 [⁴said G1473 ⁵to them G3588 ¹the G935 ²king G* ³of Egypt], G2444 Why do you, G* Moses G2532 and G* Aaron, G1294 turn aside G3588 the G2992 people G575 from G3588 the G2041 works? G565 Go forth G1538 each G1473 of you G4314 to G3588   G2041 his works! G1473  

  5 G2532 And G2036 Pharaoh said, G*   G2400 Behold, G3568 now G4181.4 [⁵are numerous G3588 ¹The G2992 ²people G3588 ³of the G1093 ⁴land]; G3361 [²not G3767 ³then G2664 ¹I shall] rest G1473 them G575 from G3588 the G2041 works.

  6 G4929 [³gave orders G1161 ¹And G* ²Pharaoh] G3588 to the G2040.2 foremen G3588 of the G2992 people, G2532 and G3588 to the G1122 scribes, G3004 saying,

  7 G3765 No longer G4369 will it be added G1325 to give G892 straw G3588 to the G2992 people G1519 for G3588 the G4141.5 brickmaking, G2509 as G5504 yesterday G2532 and G5154 the third G2250 day before . G1473 Let them G4198 go G2532 and G4863 bring together G1438 for themselves G3588 the G892 straw!

  8 G2532 And G3588 the G4928.3 rate G3588 of the G4141.5 making of bricks G3739 which G1473 they G4160 produce G2596 each G1538   G2250 day, G1911 you shall put it upon G1473 them. G3756 You shall not remove G851   G3762 any G575 of G1473 them, G4980 for they are idle.   9 G925 Let [⁴be oppressive G3588 ¹the G2041 ²works G3588   G444 ³of these men], G3778   G2532 and G3309 let [²be anxious G3778 ¹these men], G2532 and G3361 not G3309 anxious G1722 in G3056 [²words G2756 ¹empty]!

  10 G2686.4 And hastened G1161   G1473 of them G3588 the G2040.2 foremen, G2532 and G3588 the G1122 scribes G3588 of the G2992 people. G2532 And G3004 they said G4314 to G3588 the G2992 people, G3004 saying, G3592 Thus G3004 says G* Pharaoh, G3765 No longer G1325 do I give G1473 to you G892 straw.

  11 G1473 You yourselves G1473   G4198 in going, G4816 collect together G1438 for yourselves G892 straw! G3606 from where G1437 ever G2147 you should find. G3756 For nothing G1063   G851 is removed G575 from G3588   G4928.3 your rate, G1473   G3762 not one thing .

  12 G2532 And G1289 he dispersed G3588 the G2992 people G1722 in G3650 the entire G1093 land G* of Egypt G4863 to gather together G2562 stubble G1519 for G892 straw.

  13 G3588 But the G1161   G2040.2 foremen G2686.4 hastened G1473 them, G3004 saying, G4931 You complete G3588 the G2041 works, G3588 the ones G2520 fit G2596 according to the G2250 day, G2509 just as G2532 also G3753 when G3588 the G892 straw G1325 was given G1473 to you.

  14 G2532 And G3146 they were whipped -- G3588 the G1122 scribes G3588 of the G1085 race G3588 of the G5207 sons G* of Israel, G3588 the ones G2525 being placed G1909 over G1473 them G5259 by G3588 the G1988 supervisors G3588   G* of Pharaoh, G3004 and saying, G1302 Why G3756 did you not G4931 complete G3588   G4928.3 your rate G1473   G3588 of the G4141.1 making of bricks G2509 as G2532 also G5504 yesterday G2532 and G5154 the third G2250 day before G2532 and G3588   G3588   G4594 today?

  15 G1525 And entering, G1161   G3588 the G1122 scribes G3588 of the G5207 sons G* of Israel G2601.3 yelled out G4314 to G* Pharaoh, G3004 saying, G2444 Why G1473 do you G3779 thus G4160 do G3588   G4674 to your G3610 servants?

  16 G892 Straw G3756 has not G1325 been given G3588 to G3610 your servants, G1473   G2532 and G3588   G4141.4 [³brick G1473 ¹they tell us G3004   G4160 ²to make]. G2532 And G2400 behold, G3588   G3816 your servants G1473   G3146 have been whipped. G91 Shall you wrong G3767 therefore G3588   G2992 your people? G1473  

  17 G2532 And G2036 he said G1473 to them, G4980 You are idle, G4980.1 you are idlers. G1510.2.5   G1223 Because of G3778 this G3004 you say, G4198 We should go, G2380 we should sacrifice G3588 to the G2316 lord .

  18 G3568 Now G3767 then, G4198 in going, G2038 work! G3588 For the G1063   G892 straw G1473 [²to you G3756 ¹shall not be given], G1325   G2532 and G3588 the G4928.3 rate G3588 for the G4141.1 making of bricks G591 you shall render.

  19 G3708 [⁷seeing G1161 ¹And G3588 ²the G1122 ³scribes G3588 ⁴of the G5207 ⁵sons G* ⁶of Israel] G1438 themselves G1722 in G2556 bad ways, G3004 in the saying, G3756 You shall not leave off G620   G575 from G3588 the G4141.1 making of bricks G3588   G2520 fit G3588 for the G2250 day,

  20 G4876 that they met G1161   G* Moses G2532 and G* Aaron G2064 coming G1519 to G4877 meet with G1473 them G1607 in their going forth G1473   G575 from G* Pharaoh.

  21 G2532 And G2036 they said G1473 to them, G1929 [²give ⁴over G3588   G2316 ¹God G1473 ³you] G2532 and G2919 judge, G3754 for G948 you caused [²to be abhorred G3588   G3744 ¹our scent] G1473   G1726 before G* Pharaoh, G2532 and G1726 before G3588   G2324 his attendants, G1473   G1325 to put G4501 a broadsword G1519 into G3588   G5495 his hands G1473   G3588   G615 to kill G1473 us.

  22 G1994 [³turned G1161 ¹And G* ²Moses] G4314 to G2962 the lord, G2532 and G2036 said, G2962 O lord, G1223 for G5100 why did G2559 you inflict evil on G3588   G2992 this people? G3778   G2532 And G2444 why G649 have you sent G1473 me?

  23 G2532 And G575 when G3739   G1531 I went G4314 to G* Pharaoh G2980 to speak G1909 in G3588 the G4674 [² being to you G3686 ¹name], G2559 he inflicted evil on G3588   G2992 this people, G3778   G2532 and G3756 you did not rescue G4506   G3588   G2992 your people. G1473
