Praise ye Jah!

1 Kings 19:14

Psalms 91:1-16

1 He who is dwelling In the secret place of the Most High, In the shade of the Mighty lodgeth habitually, 2 He is saying of Jehovah, `My refuge, and my bulwark, my God, I trust in Him,' 3 For He delivereth thee from the snare of a fowler, From a calamitous pestilence. 4 With His pinion He covereth thee over, And under His wings thou dost trust, A shield and buckler is His truth. 5 Thou art not afraid of fear by night, Of arrow that flieth by day, 6 Of pestilence in thick darkness that walketh, Of destruction that destroyeth at noon, 7 There fall at thy side a thousand, And a myriad at thy right hand, Unto thee it cometh not nigh. 8 But with thine eyes thou lookest, And the reward of the wicked thou seest,
9 (For Thou, O Jehovah, art my refuge,) The Most High thou madest thy habitation. 10 Evil happeneth not unto thee, And a plague cometh not near thy tent, 11 For His messengers He chargeth for thee, To keep thee in all thy ways, 12 On the hands they bear thee up, Lest thou smite against a stone thy foot. 13 On lion and asp thou treadest, Thou trampest young lion and dragon. 14 Because in Me he hath delighted, I also deliver him—I set him on high, Because he hath known My name. 15 He doth call Me, and I answer him, I am with him in distress, I deliver him, and honour him. 16 With length of days I satisfy him, And I cause him to look on My salvation!

John 3:16

16 for God did so love the world, that His Son—the only begotten—He gave, that every one who is believing in him may not perish, but may have life age-during.

Romans 1:1-32

1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, a called apostle, having been separated to the good news of God— 2 which He announced before through His prophets in holy writings— 3 concerning His Son, (who is come of the seed of David according to the flesh, 4 who is marked out Son of God in power, according to the Spirit of sanctification, by the rising again from the dead,) Jesus Christ our Lord; 5 through whom we did receive grace and apostleship, for obedience of faith among all the nations, in behalf of his name; 6 among whom are also ye, the called of Jesus Christ; 7 to all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called saints; Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ!
8 first, indeed, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is proclaimed in the whole world; 9 for God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the good news of His Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you, 10 always in my prayers beseeching, if by any means now at length I shall have a prosperous journey, by the will of God, to come unto you, 11 for I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, that ye may be established; 12 and that is, that I may be comforted together among you, through the faith in one another, both yours and mine. 13 And I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, that many times I did purpose to come unto you—and was hindered till the present time—that some fruit I might have also among you, even as also among the other nations. 14 Both to Greeks and to foreigners, both to wise and to thoughtless, I am a debtor, 15 so, as much as in me is, I am ready also to you who are in Rome to proclaim good news,
16 for I am not ashamed of the good news of the Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation to every one who is believing, both to Jew first, and to Greek. 17 For the righteousness of God in it is revealed from faith to faith, according as it hath been written, `And the righteous one by faith shall live,' 18 for revealed is the wrath of God from heaven upon all impiety and unrighteousness of men, holding down the truth in unrighteousness.
19 Because that which is known of God is manifest among them, for God did manifest it to them, 20 for the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world, by the things made being understood, are plainly seen, both His eternal power and Godhead—to their being inexcusable; 21 because, having known God they did not glorify Him as God, nor gave thanks, but were made vain in their reasonings, and their unintelligent heart was darkened, 22 professing to be wise, they were made fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of fowls, and of quadrupeds, and of reptiles. 24 Wherefore also God did give them up, in the desires of their hearts, to uncleanness, to dishonour their bodies among themselves; 25 who did change the truth of God into a falsehood, and did honour and serve the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed to the ages. Amen. 26 Because of this did God give them up to dishonourable affections, for even their females did change the natural use into that against nature; 27 and in like manner also the males having left the natural use of the female, did burn in their longing toward one another; males with males working shame, and the recompense of their error that was fit, in themselves receiving. 28 And, according as they did not approve of having God in knowledge, God gave them up to a disapproved mind, to do the things not seemly; 29 having been filled with all unrighteousness, whoredom, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil dispositions; whisperers, 30 evil-speakers, God-haters, insulting, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 unintelligent, faithless, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful; 32 who the righteous judgment of God having known—that those practising such things are worthy of death—not only do them, but also have delight with those practising them.

Deuteronomy 4:24

24 for Jehovah thy God is a fire consuming—a zealous God.

1 Corinthians 13:1-8

1 If with the tongues of men and of messengers I speak, and have not love, I have become brass sounding, or a cymbal tinkling; 2 and if I have prophecy, and know all the secrets, and all the knowledge, and if I have all the faith, so as to remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing; 3 and if I give away to feed others all my goods, and if I give up my body that I may be burned, and have not love, I am profited nothing.
4 The love is long-suffering, it is kind, the love doth not envy, the love doth not vaunt itself, is not puffed up, 5 doth not act unseemly, doth not seek its own things, is not provoked, doth not impute evil, 6 rejoiceth not over the unrighteousness, and rejoiceth with the truth; 7 all things it beareth, all it believeth, all it hopeth, all it endureth.
8 The love doth never fail; and whether there be prophecies, they shall become useless; whether tongues, they shall cease; whether knowledge, it shall become useless;

Exodus 20:4-6

4 `Thou dost not make to thyself a graven image, or any likeness which is in the heavens above, or which is in the earth beneath, or which is in the waters under the earth. 5 Thou dost not bow thyself to them, nor serve them: for I, Jehovah thy God, am a zealous God, charging iniquity of fathers on sons, on the third generation, and on the fourth, of those hating Me, 6 and doing kindness to thousands, of those loving Me and keeping My commands.

Psalms 36:1-12

1 To the Overseer. —By a servant of Jehovah, by David. The transgression of the wicked Is affirming within my heart, `Fear of God is not before his eyes, 2 For he made it smooth to himself in his eyes, To find his iniquity to be hated. 3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit, He ceased to act prudently—to do good. 4 Iniquity he deviseth on his bed, He stationeth himself on a way not good, Evil he doth not refuse.'
5 O Jehovah, in the heavens is Thy kindness, Thy faithfulness is unto the clouds. 6 Thy righteousness is as mountains of God, Thy judgments are a great deep. Man and beast Thou savest, O Jehovah. 7 How precious is Thy kindness, O God, And the sons of men In the shadow of Thy wings do trust. 8 They are filled from the fatness of Thy house, And the stream of Thy delights Thou dost cause them to drink. 9 For with Thee is a fountain of life, In Thy light we see light. 10 Draw out Thy kindness to those knowing Thee, And Thy righteousness to the upright of heart. 11 Let not a foot of pride meet me, And a hand of the wicked let not move me. 12 There have workers of iniquity fallen, They have been overthrown, And have not been able to arise!

Exodus 20:4-5

4 `Thou dost not make to thyself a graven image, or any likeness which is in the heavens above, or which is in the earth beneath, or which is in the waters under the earth. 5 Thou dost not bow thyself to them, nor serve them: for I, Jehovah thy God, am a zealous God, charging iniquity of fathers on sons, on the third generation, and on the fourth, of those hating Me,

John 8:32

32 and the truth shall make you free.'

Psalms 37:1

1 By David. Do not fret because of evil doers, Be not envious against doers of iniquity,

Ecclesiastes 4:4

4 And I have seen all the labour, and all the benefit of the work, because for it a man is the envy of his neighbour. Even this is vanity and vexation of spirit.

1 Peter 4:8

8 and, before all things, to one another having the earnest love, because the love shall cover a multitude of sins;

7 be subject, then, to God; stand up against the devil, and he will flee from you;

13 as in day-time, let us walk becomingly; not in revellings and drunkennesses, not in chamberings and lasciviousnesses, not in strife and emulation;

Song of Songs 8:6

6 Set me as a seal on thy heart, as a seal on thine arm, For strong as death is love, Sharp as Sheol is jealousy, Its burnings are burnings of fire, a flame of Jah!

1 John 4:8

8 he who is not loving did not know God, because God is love.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

8 The love doth never fail; and whether there be prophecies, they shall become useless; whether tongues, they shall cease; whether knowledge, it shall become useless; 9 for in part we know, and in part we prophecy; 10 and when that which is perfect may come, then that which is in part shall become useless. 11 When I was a babe, as a babe I was speaking, as a babe I was thinking, as a babe I was reasoning, and when I have become a man, I have made useless the things of the babe; 12 for we see now through a mirror obscurely, and then face to face; now I know in part, and then I shall fully know, as also I was known; 13 and now there doth remain faith, hope, love—these three; and the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 3:3

3 for yet ye are fleshly, for where there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not fleshly, and in the manner of men do walk?

Proverbs 27:4

4 Fury is fierce, and anger is overflowing, And who standeth before jealousy?

Galatians 5:19-21

19 And manifest also are the works of the flesh, which are: Adultery, whoredom, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strifes, emulations, wraths, rivalries, dissensions, sects, 21 envyings, murders, drunkennesses, revellings, and such like, of which I tell you before, as I also said before, that those doing such things the reign of God shall not inherit.

1 Corinthians 13:4

4 The love is long-suffering, it is kind, the love doth not envy, the love doth not vaunt itself, is not puffed up,

30 A healed heart is life to the flesh, And rottenness to the bones is envy.

James 3:14-16

14 and if bitter zeal ye have, and rivalry in your heart, glory not, nor lie against the truth; 15 this wisdom is not descending from above, but earthly, physical, demon-like, 16 for where zeal and rivalry are, there is insurrection and every evil matter;
