²⁸ but I tell you, that whosoever looketh on a woman, so as to lust after her, hath already debauched her in his heart.

¹⁸ Flee from whoredom. Every other sin, that a man committeth, is without the body; but he, that committeth whoredom, sinneth against his own body.

³³ Nevertheless, let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and let the wife reverence her husband.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave up Himself for it:

¹¹ Let the woman learn in silence with all submission: but I permit not a woman to teach, ¹² nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be silent. ¹³ For Adam was formed first, then Eve. ¹⁴ And Adam was not seduced by the serpent, but the woman being led astray was first in the transgression. ¹⁵ Yet shall she be saved through childbirth, if they continue in faith and love, in holiness and modesty.

²² Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord: ²³ for the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and the saviour of that body. ²⁴ As the church then is subject to Christ, so also should wives be to their own husbands in every thing. ²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave up Himself for it: ²⁶ to sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, ²⁷ that He might prepare it for Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it should be holy and unblameable. ²⁸ Men ought so to love their wives, as their own bodies: he that loveth his wife, loveth himself. ²⁹ For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord also doth the church: ³⁰ for we are members of his body, as if taken out of his flesh, and of his bones, as Eve was out of Adam's. ³¹ For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. ³² This mystery is great: but I speak concerning Christ and the Church. ³³ Nevertheless, let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and let the wife reverence her husband.
