³⁶ but I tell you, that of every idle word, which men shall speak, they shall give an account in the day of judgement; for by thy words thou shalt be justified, ³⁷ and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

⁵ Wherefore judge nothing before the time; even until the Lord come, who will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every one have praise from God.

⁵ But by thy hardness and impenitence of heart thou art treasuring up to thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the just judgement of God, ⁶ who will render to every one according to his works: ⁷ to them, who by perseverance in well-doing seek for glory, and honor, and immortality, eternal life: ⁸ but to those who are contentious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath. ⁹ Tribulation and anguish shall be upon every soul of man that worketh evil, both of the Jew, and of the Gentile: ¹⁰ but glory, and honor, and peace to every one that worketh good, both to the Jew, and to the Greek: ¹¹ for there is no respect of persons with God. ¹² For as many as have sinned without the law shall also perish without the law; and as many as have sinned under the law shall be judged by the law;

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled, and no place was found for them. ¹² And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged by the things written in the books, according to their works. ¹³ And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them: and they were judged every one according to their works. ¹⁴ And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire: this is the second death. ¹⁵ And whosoever was not found written in the book of life, was cast into the lake of fire.

¹⁰ But why dost thou censure thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? since we shall all stand before the tribunal of Christ; ¹¹ for it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. ¹² So that every one of us shall give an account of himself to God.

¹⁰ For we must all appear before the tribunal of Christ, that every one may receive for the things done in the body, according to what he hath done, whether it were good or bad.

¹ Judge not, that ye be not judged: ² for with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured back again to you. ³ And why dost thou look at the splinter in thy brother's eye, but takest no notice of the beam in thine own eye? ⁴ Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me take the chaff out of thine eye, and behold, there is a beam in thine own eye? ⁵ Thou hypocrite, first get the beam out of thine own eye; and then thou wilt see how to take the splinter out of thy brother's eye. ⁶ Give not that which is holy unto dogs, nor cast your pearls before swine; least they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you. ⁷ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: ⁸ for every one, that asketh, receiveth; and he, that seeketh, findeth; and to him, that knocketh, it shall be opened. ⁹ Is there any man among you, who, if his son ask him for bread, will give him a stone? ¹⁰ or if he ask for a fish, will he give him a serpent? ¹¹ If ye then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to them that ask Him? ¹² All things therefore whatsoever ye would have men do to you, do ye also in like manner unto them: for this is the doctrine of the law and the prophets. ¹³ Enter ye in at the strait gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be who go in thereat: ¹⁴ whereas the gate is narrow, and the way troublesome, which leadeth into life, and few there be that find it. ¹⁵ And beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. ¹⁶ Ye will know them by their fruits: do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? ¹⁷ so every good tree yieldeth good fruit, but a corrupt tree produces bad fruit: ¹⁸ a good tree cannot produce evil fruit, nor can a corrupt tree bear good fruit: ¹⁹ and every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire. ²⁰ So then by their fruits ye will know them. ²¹ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doth the will of my Father, who is in heaven: ²² many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and in thy name have cast out devils, and in thy name have wrought many miracles? and I will then declare unto them, ²³ I never owned you, depart from me, ye workers of iniquity. ²⁴ Whoever therefore heareth these words of mine, and performeth them, I will compare him to a prudent man, who built his house on a rock: ²⁵ and the rain fell upon it, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell not; for it was founded upon a rock. ²⁶ And whoever heareth these words of mine, and performeth them not, shall be likened to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand: ²⁷ and the rain fell upon it, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell, and the fall thereof was great. ²⁸ And when Jesus had ended these discourses, the people were amazed at his doctrine: ²⁹ for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes.
