³⁶ And, seeing the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed and scattered, as sheep having no shepherd.

¹ If I speak with tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. ² And, if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all the mysteries and all knowledge; and, if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing, ³ And, if I bestow in morsels all my goods; and, if I give my body to he burned, but have not love, I am profited nothing. ⁴ Love suffers long, is kind; love envies not; love vaunts not herself, is not puffed up, ⁵ behaves not unseemly, seeks not her own, is not provoked, takes no account of evil, ⁶ rejoices not at unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; ⁷ bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ⁸ Love never fails; but whether there be prophecies, they will be done away; whether there be tongues, they will cease; whether there be knowledge, it will be done away. ⁹ For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; ¹⁰ but, when the complete comes, the partial will be done away. ¹¹ When I was a child, I was wont to talk as a child, to think as a child, to reason as a child; since I have become a man, I have done away with the things of the child; ¹² for now we see through a mirror, obscurely; but then, face to face; now I know in part, but then I shall fully know, even as I also was fully known. ¹³ But now abides faith, hope, love; these three; and the greatest of these is love.

⁹ The Lord is not slow respecting the promise, as some account slowness; but He is long-suffering toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

⁸ And, finally, be ye all of one mind, compassionate, loving as brethren, tender-hearted, humble-minded;

¹⁴ And Jesus, coming forth, saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion over them, and healed their sick.

² Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all consolation; ⁴ Who consoleth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to console those who are in any tribulation, through the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God.

¹² Put on, therefore, as God's elect, holy and beloved, tender affections of compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering; ¹³ (bearing with one another, and freely forgiving one another, if any one have a complaint against any; even as the Lord freely forgave you, so also do ye):

³⁴ And, coming forth, He saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd; and He began to teach them many things.

³² and become kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God also in Christ forgave you.
