¹³ And bring us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.'

³⁶ If, therefore, the Son shall make you free, ye will be free indeed.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strifes, jealousies, wraths, factions, divisions, parties, ²¹ envyings, drunkenness, revelings, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, as I also said before, that those practicing such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of God.

¹¹ Beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly desires, which, indeed, war against the soul;

³³ Be not deceived; evil companionships corrupt good morals.

¹⁶ because all that is in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the vain-glory of life—is not of the Father, but is of the world.

¹² Happy is a man who endures temptation; because, when he becomes approved, he will receive the crown of life, which He promised to those who love Him. ¹³ Let no one, when tempted, say, "I am tempted from God"; for God cannot be tempted with evils, and He Himself tempteth no one. ¹⁴ But each one is tempted, when by his own desire he is drawn away and enticed. ¹⁵ Then the desire, having conceived, brings forth sin; and sin, when completed, brings forth death.

⁸ Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the Devil, as a roaring lion, is going about, seeking whom he may devour;

¹³ A temptation has not taken you, except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able, but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
