Bible verses about "offence" | Whiston

Romans 16:17-18

17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark diligently them who cause divisions and scandals, saying or doing things contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such, serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words, deceive the hearts of the simple.

1 Corinthians 10:32

32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have no charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. 4 Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not it self, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave it self unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth: 7 Covereth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 8 Charity never faileth: but whether prophecies, they shall fail; whether tongues, they shall cease; whether knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away. 11 Truly when I was an infant, I spake as an infant, I understood as an infant, I reasoned as an infant: When I became a man, I put away the things of an infant. 12 Now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.

2 John 1:10-11

10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him good speed. 11 For he that biddeth him good speed, is partaker of his evil deeds.

2 Thessalonians 3:6

6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw your selves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which they received of us.

Romans 16:17

17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark diligently them who cause divisions and scandals, saying or doing things contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

James 1:12

12 Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which He hath promised to them that love him.
