²³ Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but what he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. ²⁴ Therefore I say unto you, What things ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye shall receive [them], and ye shall have [them].

⁴⁷ And that servant who knew his lords will, but did not according to his will, shall be beaten with many [stripes.] ⁴⁸ But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few. To whom much is given they will require the more from him; and to whom they have committed much, of him they will require the more.

²⁸ Let him that stole, steal no more; but rather let him labour; working with his own hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

³³ I have coveted the silver, and gold, or apparel of none of you. ³⁴ You your selves know, that my hands have ministred unto my necessities, and to all them that were with me. ³⁵ I have shewed you every thing, that so labouring ye ought to support the weak; and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

²⁴ No one can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon:

³⁵ I have shewed you every thing, that so labouring ye ought to support the weak; and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

⁵ Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, and uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

¹⁵ Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of God is not in him.

¹⁵ And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of all sort of covetousness; for life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which a man possesseth.

¹² All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

¹⁵ Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of God is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world, ¹⁷ And the world passeth away, and its lust: but he that doeth the will of God, abideth for ever.

¹⁰ For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some have coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

⁵ [Let your] conversation [be] without covetousness; [Be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
