¹⁸ And as they sat and did eat, Jesus saith, Verily I say unto you, out of you who eateth with me, will betray me. ¹⁹ And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another, Is it I? ²⁰ And he saith unto them, it is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish. ²¹ The Son of man indeed is betrayed, as it is written of him: but wo to that man by whom he is betrayed: good were it for that man if he had not been born.

⁴⁷ But while he yet spake, lo, Judas one of the twelve came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves from the chief priests and elders of the people. ⁴⁸ Now he that betrayed him, gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he, hold him fast. ⁴⁹ And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail master; and kissed him. ⁵⁰ And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

³ Then Judas who had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders; ⁴ Saying, I have sinned, in that I have betrayed righteous blood. And they said, What [is that] to us? see thou [to that]. ⁵ And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departe, and went and hanged himself.

²¹ And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you will betray me. ²² And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say, Lord, is it I? ²³ And he answered and said, He that dippeth [his] hand with me in the dish, the same will betray me. ²⁴ Therefore the Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but wo unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed: it had been good on this account for that man it he had not been born. ²⁵ Then Judas, who betrayed him, answered, and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

¹⁶ Men, brethren, this scripture must needs be fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, who was guide to them that took Jesus.

²⁷ And Satan entred into him. And Jesus saith unto him, What thou dost, do quickly.

² And Judas also who betrayed him, knew the place; for Jesus often resorted thither with his disciples. ³ Judas therefore having received a band and officers from the chief priests and from the Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns, and torches, and weapons. ⁴ But Jesus knowing all things that were coming upon him, went forth and saith unto them, Whom seek ye? ⁵ They answered him and said, Jesus of Nazareth. He saith unto them, I am [he]. And Judas also who betrayed him, stood with them.

⁷⁰ Jesus answered, saying, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

¹⁴ Then one of the twelve, called Judas Scarioth, went unto the chief priests, ¹⁵ And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of Silver. ¹⁶ And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him unto them.

² And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Scarioth the Son of Simon that he should betray him.

³ And Satan entered into Judas sirnamed Scarioth, being of the number of the twelve. ⁴ And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests, how he might betray him. ⁵ And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money. ⁶ And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him in the absence of the multitude.

⁶ But he said this, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and having the bag, he bare what was put therein.

¹² What thou gavest me, that they they may be one as we are. While I was with them, I kept them in thy name. Those that thou gavest me I have kept: And none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

¹⁸ I speak not of you all; I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me, hath lift up his heel against me. ¹⁹ Now I tell you before it come, that when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am [he]. ²⁰ Verily, verily I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send, receiveth me: and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me. ²¹ When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily I say unto you, that one of you will betray me. ²² The disciples therefore looking one on another, doubted of whom he spake. ²³ Now there was leaning on Jesus bosom, on of his disciples whom also Jesus loved. ²⁴ Simon Peter therefore beckned to him, to ask who he should be of whom he spake. ²⁵ He then lying on Jesus breast, saith unto him, Lord, who is he? ²⁶ Jesus answereth him, and saith, He it is to whomsoever I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Scarioth [the son] of Simon.

¹⁸ Now this man purchased a field with the reward of his iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

⁴ One of his disciples therefore Judas Scarioth who was to betray him, saith, ⁵ Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred denarii, and given to the poor? ⁶ But he said this, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and having the bag, he bare what was put therein.

⁶⁷ But Jesus said to the twelve, Will ye also go away? ⁶⁸ But Simon Peter said, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. ⁶⁹ And we have believed, and have known thee, that thou art the Holy One of God. ⁷⁰ Jesus answered, saying, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? ⁷¹ He spake of Judas Scarioth [the son] of Simon: for he was to betray him, [being] one of the twelve.

⁴³ And while he yet spake, cometh Judas Scarioth, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders, ⁴⁴ And he that betrayed him, had given a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, is he, lay hold of him, and lead [him] away safely. ⁴⁵ And he came to him, and saith, Rabbi, and kissed him.
