²⁶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

¹ But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock.

⁶ Let every thing that has breath praise the LORD. Praise all of you the LORD.

²⁷ These wait all upon you; that you may give them their food in due season. ²⁸ That you give them they gather: you open your hand, they are filled with good. ²⁹ You hide your face, they are troubled: you take away their breath, they die, and return to their dust. ³⁰ You send forth your spirit, they are created: and you renew the face of the earth.

⁵ Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and your faithfulness reachs unto the clouds. ⁶ Your righteousness is like the great mountains; your judgments are a great deep: O LORD, you preserve man and beast.

¹⁸ And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an associated helper for him. ¹⁹ And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

²⁴ And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. ²⁵ And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creeps upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

¹ And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor. ² The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds: ³ But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own food, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter. ⁴ And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the travelling man that was come unto him; but took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him. ⁵ And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD lives, the man that has done this thing shall surely die: ⁶ And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.

⁶ The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

⁹ The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. ¹⁰ All your works shall praise you, O LORD; and your saints shall bless you.

⁶ Your righteousness is like the great mountains; your judgments are a great deep: O LORD, you preserve man and beast.

²⁵ Who gives food to all flesh: for his mercy endures for ever.

⁶ Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

¹⁰ A righteous man regards the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
