¹² And I said unto them, If all of you think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.

¹⁸ And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eats with me shall betray me. ¹⁹ And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I? ²⁰ And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dips with me in the dish. ²¹ The Son of man indeed goes, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

⁴⁷ And while he yet spoke, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people. ⁴⁸ Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast. ⁴⁹ And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him. ⁵⁰ And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore are you come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.

³ Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, ⁴ Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see you to that. ⁵ And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

²¹ And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. ²² And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I? ²³ And he answered and said, He that dips his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me. ²⁴ The Son of man goes as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born. ²⁵ Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, You have said.

¹⁶ Men and brethren, this scripture must essentially have been fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit (o. pneuma) by the mouth of David spoke before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

²⁷ And after the morsel Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That you do, do quickly.

² And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus frequently resorted thither with his disciples. ³ Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, comes thither with lanterns and torches and weapons. ⁴ Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek all of you? ⁵ They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus says unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.

⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

¹⁴ Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, ¹⁵ And said unto them, What will all of you give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. ¹⁶ And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

² And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;

³ Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. ⁴ And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them. ⁵ And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money. ⁶ And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.

⁶ This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

¹² While I was with them in the world, I kept them in your name: those that you gave me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

¹⁸ I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me. ¹⁹ Now I tell you before it come, that, when it has come to pass, all of you may believe that I am he. ²⁰ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receives whomsoever I send receives me; and he that receives me receives him that sent me. ²¹ When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, (o. pneuma) and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. ²² Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spoke. ²³ Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. ²⁴ Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spoke. ²⁵ He then lying on Jesus' breast says unto him, Lord, who is it? ²⁶ Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a morsel, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the morsel, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

¹⁸ Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

¹⁶ Men and brethren, this scripture must essentially have been fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit (o. pneuma) by the mouth of David spoke before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. ¹⁷ For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. ¹⁸ Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. ¹⁹ And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood. ²⁰ For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take. ²¹ Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, ²² Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. ²³ And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. ²⁴ And they prayed, and said, You, Lord, which know the hearts of all men, show whether of these two you have chosen, ²⁵ That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

⁴ Then says one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him, ⁵ Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? ⁶ This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

And they said, What is that to us? see you to that. ⁵ And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. ⁶ And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful in order to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. ⁷ And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in. ⁸ Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day. ⁹ Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value; ¹⁰ And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.

⁶⁷ Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will all of you also go away? ⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? you have the words (o. rhema) of eternal life. ⁶⁹ And we believe and are sure that you are that Christ, the Son of the living God. ⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? ⁷¹ He spoke of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.

⁵ And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

⁴³ And immediately, while he yet spoke, comes Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. ⁴⁴ And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely. ⁴⁵ And as soon as he was come, he goes immediately to him, and says, Master, master; and kissed him.

⁹ Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.
