⁵⁴ Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.

⁵ Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as all of you have: for he has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you. ⁶ So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

¹ The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not lack. ² He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters. ³ He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. ⁴ Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. ⁵ You prepare a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. ⁶ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

¹ I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence comes my help. ² My help comes from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. ³ He will not suffer your foot to be moved: he that keeps you will not slumber. ⁴ Behold, he that keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. ⁵ The LORD is your keeper: the LORD is your shade upon your right hand. ⁶ The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. ⁷ The LORD shall preserve you from all evil: he shall preserve your soul. ⁸ The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

²⁹ And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that has left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, ³⁰ But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

¹³ As one whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you; and all of you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

²² It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. ²³ They are new every morning: great is your faithfulness. ²⁴ The LORD is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

¹ To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: ² A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; ³ A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; ⁴ A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; ⁵ A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; ⁶ A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; ⁷ A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; ⁸ A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. ⁹ What profit has he that works in that wherein he labours? ¹⁰ I have seen the travail, which God has given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. ¹¹ He has made every thing beautiful in his time: also he has set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God makes from the beginning to the end. ¹² I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. ¹³ And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God. ¹⁴ I know that, whatsoever God does, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God does it, that men should fear before him. ¹⁵ That which has been is now; and that which is to be has already been; and God requires that which is past. ¹⁶ And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there. ¹⁷ I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. ¹⁸ I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts. ¹⁹ For that which befalls the sons of men befalls beasts; even one thing befalls them: as the one dies, so dies the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man has no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. ²⁰ All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. ²¹ Who knows the spirit of man that goes upward, and the spirit of the beast that goes downward to the earth? ²² Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

³ You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you: because he trusts in you. ⁴ Trust all of you in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

³ Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; ⁴ Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. ⁵ For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds by Christ. ⁶ And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. ⁷ And our hope of you is steadfast, knowing, that as all of you are partakers of the sufferings, so shall all of you be also of the consolation.

⁶ Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. ⁷ And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
