I came to thy house: Thou gavest me no water for my feet; but she with her tears hath washed my feet, and wiped them with the hairs of her head: ⁴⁵ Thou gavest me no kiss: but she, since I came in, hath not ceased kissing my feet. ⁴⁶ My head thou didst not anoint with oil: but she hath anointed my feet with myrrh. ⁴⁷ For what reason? I tell thee. Her sins which are many, are forgiven her; therefore her love is great. But he to whom little is forgiven, hath little love. ⁴⁸ Then he said to her, Thy sins are forgiven. ⁴⁹ Upon this, they who were at table with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins? ⁵⁰ Thereupon he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee, Go in peace.
