Bible verses about "judgment" | Sawyer

Matthew 12:36

36 But I tell you, that for every idle word which men speak they shall render an account in a day of judgment; 37 for by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned.

1 Corinthians 4:5

5 Judge nothing therefore before the time, till the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden deeds of darkness, and make known the purposes of the hearts; and then shall each one have praise from God.

Romans 2:5-12

5 But according to your hardness and unchanged heart you treasure up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and of a revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who will render to each according to his works; 7 to those who by patience in good works seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; 8 but to those who are contentions and disobey the truth, and obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath. 9 Affliction and distress [shall be] on every soul of man that does evil, both the Jew first and the Greek; 10 and glory and honor and peace to every one that does good, both the Jew first and the Greek. 11 (2:6) For there is no respect of persons with God. 12 For as many as have sinned without the law shall perish without the law, and as many as have sinned with the law shall be judged by the law,—

Revelation 20:11-15

11 (12:1) AND I saw a great white throne and him that sat on it, from whose presence the earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, stand before the throne, and the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is of life. And the dead were judged from the things written in the books according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged each according to their works. 14 And Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And whoever was not found enrolled in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

2 Corinthians 5:10

10 For we must all appear before the tribunal of Christ, that each one may receive through the body for what he has done, whether it is good or evil.

Romans 14:10-12

10 But why do you judge your brother? why do you set at nought your brother? for we must all stand at the tribunal of God. 11 For it is written, [As] I live, says the Lord, to me every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess to God. 12 Each of us therefore shall give account of himself to God.

Romans 14:12-13

12 Each of us therefore shall give account of himself to God. 13 (10:3) Let us not therefore judge one another, but judge this rather, not to place a stumbling-block or an offense before a brother.

James 2:13

13 For he shall have judgment without mercy who shows not mercy; mercy rejoices over judgment.

Matthew 7:1-29

1 (5:11) Judge not, that you be not judged; 2 for with what judgment you judge you shall be judged; and with what measure you measure it shall be measured to you. 3 And why do you see a speck in your brother's eye, and not consider a beam in your own eye? 4 or how will you say to your brother, Let me cast out the speck from your eye, and behold a beam in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite, cast out first the beam from your eye, and then will you see clearly to cast out the speck from your brother's eye. 6 Give not a holy thing to dogs, neither cast your pearls before swine, lest they tread them down with their feet, and turn and rend you. 7 Ask, and it shall be given you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you. 8 For every one that asks, receives; and he that seeks, finds; and to him that knocks, it shall be opened. 9 Or is there any man of you, who, if his son asks bread of him, will give him a stone? 10 or if he asks a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to them that ask him. 12 All things, therefore, which you wish men to do to you, do also thus to them; for this is the law and the prophets. 13 (5:12) Enter in through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate; and spacious the way which leads to destruction, and many are they that enter in by it; 14 for narrow is the gate, and compressed the way which leads to life, and few are those who find it. 15 But beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but within they are rapacious wolves. 16 You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorns? or figs from thistles? 17 So every good tree bears good fruits, but a bad tree bears bad fruits; 18 a good tree cannot bear bad fruits, nor a bad tree good fruits. 19 Every tree which bears not good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire. 20 By their fruits, therefore, you shall know them. 21 (5:13) Not every one that says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that does the will of my Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, and in your name cast out demons, and in your name performed many mighty works? 23 and then will I confess to them, I never knew you; depart from me you that commit wickedness. 24 (5:14) Every one, therefore, that hears these words of mine and performs them, I will liken to a wise man who built his house on the rock; 25 and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it fell not, for it was founded on the rock. 26 And every one who hears these words of mine and performs them not, shall be likened to a foolish man, who built his house on the sand; 27 and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it fell; and its fall was great. 28 And when Jesus had finished these words the multitudes were astonished at his teaching; 29 for he taught them as having authority, and not as their scribes.
