²³ But he turned, and said to Peter, Get behind me, Satan: you are an offence to me: for you are not thinking of the things of God, but of the things of men.

¹⁰ The thief comes only to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

¹⁸ And he said to them, I beheld Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

³ But I fear, lest, as the serpent deceived Eve through his cunning, so your minds will be led astray from the simplicity that is in Christ.

⁴ For the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe, lest they should see the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God.

²⁷ Give no opportunity to the devil.

¹¹ Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast down, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world: he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him. ¹⁰ And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ have come: for the accuser of our brethren has been cast down, who accuses them before our God day and night. ¹¹ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they did not love their lives to death. ¹² Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you who live in them. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea! for the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.

¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authorities, against the powers of darkness of this world, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

¹⁹ We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies under the power of the wicked one.

²⁰ And the God of peace shall soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

⁷ Therefore, submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

⁴⁴ You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature: for he is a liar, and the father of lies.

¹⁴ And no wonder; for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

⁸ He who commits sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this reason the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

⁸ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, like a roaring lion, walks about, seeking someone he may devour.
