⁷ Do not be deceived; God is not mocked: for whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap. ⁸ For he who sows to his flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption; but he who sows to the Spirit shall from the Spirit reap eternal life.

³ For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not burdensome. ⁴ For everyone who is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith. ⁵ Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

¹² Teaching us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires, and live sensibly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

⁹ And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we do not loose heart.

¹⁶ All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our infirmities; but one who in every respect was tempted as we are, yet without sin.

¹⁴ But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away and enticed by his own lust.

¹ Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. ² Honour your father and mother; (which is the first commandment with a promise;) ³ That it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth. ⁴ And you fathers, do not provoke your children to anger: but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. ⁵ Slaves, be obedient to those who are your earthly masters, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; ⁶ Not with eye-service, as men-pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; ⁷ Doing service with a good will, as to the Lord, and not to men: ⁸ Knowing that whatever good thing any man does, he shall receive the same back from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free. ⁹ And, you masters, do the same to them, and give up threatening: knowing that both your Master and theirs is in heaven; and there is no partiality with him. ¹⁰ Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. ¹¹ Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. ¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authorities, against the powers of darkness of this world, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. ¹³ Therefore, take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand on the evil day, and having done all, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand therefore, having your loins girded about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; ¹⁵ And your feet shod with the readiness that is from the gospel of peace. ¹⁶ In addition to all these, take up the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. ¹⁷ And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: ¹⁸ Praying always in the Spirit with all manner of prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert in it with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints; ¹⁹ And for me, that words may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, ²⁰ For which I am an ambassador in chains: that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. ²¹ Now, that you may also know my affairs, and how I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make all these things known to you. ²² I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts. ²³ Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. ²⁴ Grace be to all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.

¹⁷ Therefore, for him who knows the good he ought to do, and does not do it, for him it is sin.

²⁰ Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing to the Lord.

¹ Let every man be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority but from God: and those authorities that exist have been ordained by God. ² Therefore, whoever resists the authorities, resists the ordinance of God: and those who resist shall bring condemnation upon themselves. ³ For rulers are not a terror for those who do good works, but to those who do evil. Do you want to have no fear of the one in authority? do that which is good, and you shall have his praise: ⁴ For he is a minister of God for your good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain: for he is a minister of God to execute wrath upon the one who does evil. ⁵ Therefore you must be subject, not only to avoid wrath, but also for conscience sake. ⁶ For this reason you also pay taxes: for they are God's ministers, attending continually to this very service. ⁷ Therefore, give to all men what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; revenue to whom revenue; respect to whom respect; honour to whom honour. ⁸ Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he who loves others has fulfilled the law. ⁹ For the commandments, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not covet; and any other commandments, are summed up in this saying, You shall love your neighbour as yourself. ¹⁰ Love does no wrong to a neighbour: therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. ¹¹ And besides that, you know the hour, that it is now high time to awaken from sleep: for now our salvation is nearer than when we believed. ¹² The night is far gone, the day is at hand: therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. ¹³ Let us conduct ourselves properly, as in the day; not in carousing and drunkenness, not in debauchery and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy. ¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its lusts.
