Bible verses about "compassion" | RKJNT

Matthew 9:36

36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed, and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become a noisy gong, or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so that I can remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, and is kind; love does not envy; love does not boast, and is not arrogant; 5 It is not rude, does not insist on its own way, is not easily provoked, it keeps no account of wrongs suffered; 6 It does not rejoice in injustice, but rejoices in the truth; 7 Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails: but where there are prophecies, they shall pass away; where there are tongues, they shall cease; where there is knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect comes, then that which is partial shall pass away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

2 Peter 3:9

9 The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some men count slowness; but is patient toward you, not wanting that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

1 Peter 3:8

8 Finally, be of one mind, have sympathy for one another, love as brethren, be compassionate, be humble.

Matthew 14:14

14 As Jesus went ashore, and saw a great multitude, he was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Galatians 6:2

2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforts us in all our troubles, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Colossians 3:12-13

12 Therefore, as the chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on hearts of mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience; 13 Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another. If any man has a complaint against another; just as Christ forgave you, so you do the same.

Mark 6:34

34 And Jesus, when he came ashore, saw many people, and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

Ephesians 4:32

32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ has forgiven you.
