³¹ Therefore be not anxious, saying, What shall we eat, or what shall we drink, or wherewith shall we he clothed? ³² For after all these things do the gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. ³³ But seek first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will also be given you.

¹¹ If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

⁴⁴ And all that believed were together, and had all things common; ⁴⁵ and they sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as any one had need.

³² And the multitude of those who believed were of one heart, and of one soul; and not one of them said that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. ³³ And with great power did the apostles give their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus; and great grace was upon them all. ³⁴ For there was no one among them that was in want; for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, ³⁵ and laid them at the feet of the apostles; and distribution was made to every one, according as he had need.

⁸ But if any one provideth not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.

¹⁹ But my God will supply all your need according to his riches in glory, in Christ Jesus.

³³ Sell what ye have, and give alms. Make for yourselves purses which wax not old, treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, nor moth destroyeth. ³⁴ For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

¹⁷ Charge those who are rich in this world that they be not highminded, nor place their hope in uncertain riches, but in God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, ¹⁸ that they be rich in good works, liberal in imparting, willing to communicate, ¹⁹ laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on the true life.

²⁴ No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate one, and love the other; or else he will cleave to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

¹⁹ Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where the moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; ²⁰ but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumeth, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. ²¹ For where thy treasure is, there will thy heart be also.

¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all evils; which some coveting have strayed away from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many pangs.

⁵ Let your disposition be without covetousness, and be content with what ye have; for he hath said, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee;"
