²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is no male and female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus;

²⁹ But he, wishing to justify himself, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor? ³⁰ Jesus answering said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers; who after stripping him of his raiment, and wounding him, departed, leaving him half dead. ³¹ And by chance a certain priest was going down on that road; and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. ³² And in like manner also a Levite, having arrived at the place, came and saw, and passed by on the other side. ³³ But a certain Samaritan, as he was journeying, came where he was, and when he saw him, had compassion, ³⁴ and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine, and setting him on his own beast, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. ³⁵ And the next day, he took out two denaries and gave them to the host, and said, Take care of him; and whatever thou spendest more, I, when I come back, will repay thee. ³⁶ Which of these three, dost thou think, was neighbor to him that fell among the robbers? ³⁷ And he said, He that took pity on him. Then said Jesus to him, Go, and do thou likewise. ³⁸ And it came to pass, as they journeyed, that he entered into a certain village; and a certain woman, named Martha, received him into her house. ³⁹ And she had a sister called Mary, who sat down at the feet of the Lord, and listened to his word. ⁴⁰ But Martha was cumbered about much serving; and she came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? Tell her therefore to help me. ⁴¹ But the Lord answering said to her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and troubled about many things. ⁴² But one thing is needful. For Mary hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
