Romans 8:1-39

1 There is then now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life set me free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the Law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God hath done, who on account of sin sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and passed sentence of condemnation on sin in the flesh; 4 so that what is required by the Law might be accomplished in us, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 5 For they who are according to the flesh have their mind on the things of the flesh; but they who are according to the Spirit, on the things of the Spirit. 6 For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the Spirit life and peace. 7 Because the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it doth not submit itself to the Law of God, neither indeed can it. 8 And they who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. But if any one hath to not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body indeed is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, he who raised up Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies, because of his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12 So then, brethren, we are debtors not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if ye live according to the flesh, ye are sure to die; but if by the Spirit ye make an end of the deeds of the body, ye will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are sons of God. 15 For ye did not receive the spirit of bondage so as to be again in fear; but ye received the spirit of adopted children, whereby we cry, Abba, Father! 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are children of God; 17 and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and fellowheirs with Christ; if indeed we are suffering with him, that we may also be glorified with him. 18 For I esteem the sufferings of the present time as of no account, when compared with the glory which is about to be revealed to us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was brought into subjection to vanity not of its own will, but by reason of him who put it into subjection, 21 in hope that even the creation itself will be set free from the bondage of corruption and brought into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation is together groaning and suffering the pains of labor, up to this time; 23 and not only so, but even we ourselves also, though having the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption as sons, for the redemption of our body. 24 For we were saved only in hope. But hope which is seen is not hope; how can a man hope for that which he seeth? 25 But if we hope for that which we do not see, then do we with patience wait for it. 26 In like manner the Spirit also helpeth our weakness; for we know not what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit itself intercedeth with groans which cannot be expressed in words. 27 But he that searcheth the hearts knoweth the mind of the Spirit, because it intercedeth for the holy according to the will of God. 28 We know moreover that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For he determined beforehand that those whom he foreknew should be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 And those whom he before appointed, he also called; and those whom he called, he also accepted as righteous; and those whom he accepted as righteous, he also glorified. 31 What shall we then say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against the chosen of God? God is he who accepteth them as righteous. 34 Who is he that condemneth? Christ is he that died, yea rather, who rose again, who is also at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ for us? Shall affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril or sword? 36 As it is written, "For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we were accounted as sheep for slaughter." 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors, through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God for us, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 12:16

16 Be of one mind among yourselves. Set not your minds on high things, but content yourselves with what is humble. Be not wise in your own conceits.

2 Timothy 4:3

3 For the time will come, when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own desires will they heap to themselves teachers; because they have itching ears;

Matthew 23:1-39

1 Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes, and to his disciples, 2 saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in the seat of Moses. 3 All, therefore, whatever they bid you, do and observe; but do not according to their works; for they say, and do not. 4 They bind heavy burdens, and lay them on mens shoulders, and will not themselves move them with a finger. 5 And all their works they do to be observed by men. They make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge their fringes, 6 and love the first place at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, 7 and salutations in the markets, and to be called by men, Rabbi. 8 But be not ye called Rabbi; for one is your teacher; and ye are all brethren. 9 And call no one your father on the earth; for one is your father, he who is in heaven. 10 Nor be ye called leaders; for one is your leader, the Christ. 11 But the greatest among you will be your servant. 12 And whoever shall exalt himself will be humbled; and whoever shall humble himself will be exalted. 13 But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites I because ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for ye go not in yourselves, nor suffer those who are entering to go in. 14 (...)15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he is made, ye make him twofold mole a son of hell than yourselves. 16 Woe to you, blind guides, that say, Whoever sweareth by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever sweareth by the gold of the temple, is bound. 17 Fools and blind I for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold? 18 And, Whoever sweareth by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, is bound. 19 Blind men! For which is greater, the gift, or the altar flint sanctifieth the gift? 20 He then who sweareth by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all that is upon it; 21 and he that sweareth by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him who dwelleth in it; 22 and he who sweareth by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him who sitteth thereon. 23 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithes of the mint, and the dill, and the cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the Law, justice, and mercy, and faith; these ought ye to have done, and not to leave those undone. 24 Blind guides! who strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel. 25 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and the platter, but within they are full of robbery and licentiousness. 26 Blind Pharisee! cleanse first the inside of the cup, that its outside side also may become clean. 27 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like whited sepulchres, which outwardly indeed appear beautiful, but within are full of dead mens bones, and of all uncleanness. 28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous to men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. 29 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and adorn the tombs of the righteous, 30 and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. 31 So that ye bear witness against yourselves, that ye are the sons of those who killed the prophets. 32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers! 33 Serpents, brood of vipers! how can ye escape the punishment of hell? 34 Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets, and wise men, and scribes; some of them ye will kill and crucify, and some of them ye will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city; 35 that on you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Barachiah, whom ye slew, between the temple and the altar. 36 Truly do I say to you, All these things will come upon this generation. 37 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killeth the prophets, and stoneth those who are sent to her! How often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38 Lo! your house is left to you desolate. 39 For I say to you, Ye will not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

James 2:1-13

1 My brethren, hold not the faith of our Lord of glory, Jesus Christ, with respect of persons. 2 For if there come into your assembly a man with a gold ring, in splendid apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment, 3 and ye have respect to him that weareth the splendid apparel, and say, Sit thou here in a good place, and say to the poor man, Stand thou there, or, Sit under my footstool, 4 have ye not been partial among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts? 5 Hearken, my beloved brethren. Did not God choose the poor as to the world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him? 6 but ye have despised the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you, and do not they drag you before the judgmentseats? 7 Do not they blaspheme the worthy name by which ye are called? 8 If indeed ye fulfill the royal law, according to the scripture, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself," ye do well. 9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10 For whoever hath kept the whole law, and yet hath offended in one point, hath become guilty of all. 11 For he who said, "Do not commit adultery," said also, "Do not kill." Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou hast become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. 13 For the judgment shall be without mercy to him that showed no mercy. Mercy glorieth against judgment.

1 Corinthians 1:10

10 But I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that ye be perfectly united in the same mind and in the same judgment.
