³ »‘Respect your mother and father. Observe my days of worship. I am Jehovah your God!

¹² »Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land Jehovah your God gives you.

⁹ »‘Jehovah gave the following regulations. Any of you that curse your father or mother shall be put to death. You are responsible for your own death.

⁶ Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

²⁸ Her children arise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her. ²⁹ Many daughters have done well, but you are above them all.

²⁰ He who curses his father or his mother, his lamp will be put out in obscure darkness.

²² Listen to your father who gave you life. Do not despise your mother when she is old. ²³ Buy the truth and do not sell it. ¹ A wise son makes a father glad: but a foolish son is sorrow (depression) (grief) for his mother.

²⁰ My son, obey your father's command, and do not abandon the law of your mother:

¹⁷ The eye that mocks his father, and rejects obedience to his mother, the ravens of the valley pick it out, and the young eagles eat it.

¹¹ There is a generation that curses their father, and doe not bless their mother.

¹⁵ Can a woman forget her nursing child? Will she have no compassion on the child from her womb? Although mothers forget, I will not forget you.

²⁰ »You know the commandments, do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, and do not bear false witness. Honor your father and mother.«

⁴³ »How is it that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

²⁶ Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved. He said to his mother, »Woman, look, your son!« ²⁷ Then he said to the disciple, »Look, your mother!« That hour forward the disciple took her to his home.

¹⁵ The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.

³ Children are an inheritance from Jehovah. They are a blessing from him.

² Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise.
