Bible verses about "honor" | NSB

Exodus 20:12

12 »Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land Jehovah your God gives you.

Psalms 1:1-6

1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of the scornful mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of Jehovah (YHWH), and on his law he meditates (ponders) (speaks softly with deep thought) (studies) (contemplates) day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water. It yields its fruit in season and its leaves do not wither. Whatever he does prospers. 4 This is not so for the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand (be upright) in the judgment. The sinners will not stand (endure) in the assembly of the righteous. 6 Jehovah knows (is fully aware of) the way of the righteous. But the way of the wicked will perish.

Proverbs 3:9

9 Honor Jehovah with your wealth and give him the best of all you have.

1 Peter 2:17-19

17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Reverence and respect God. Honor the king. 18 Servants, be in subjection to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle master but also to the hard to please. 19 For this is to your credit to suffer wrongfully and endure grief because of your conscience toward God.

Ephesians 6:1-4

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. 2 Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise. 3 Then it will go well with you, and you may live long on the earth. 4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of God.

2 Timothy 2:21

21 If anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

Romans 12:9-13

9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor evil and cling to good. 10 Be devoted to one another with brotherly love, in honor preferring one another. 11 Do not lag behind in diligence. Be fervent in spirit serving God. 12 Rejoice in hope! Be patient in tribulation. Continue in prayer. 13 Contribute to the needs of the holy ones and practice hospitality.

Romans 13:1-7

1 Let every person be subject to superior authorities. For there is no authority except by God. God allows the authorities to serve in their positions. 2 Whoever opposes the authority resists the ordinance of God. Those who resist will receive judgment. 3 For rulers are objects of fear, not to good works, but to the evil. Will you not have respect for the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from it. 4 He is the minister of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid for he does not bear the sword in vain. He is the minister of God, an avenger to execute wrath upon him that does evil. 5 You must be in subjection, not only because of that wrath, but also for the sake of your conscience. 6 That is why you pay taxes. They are God’s ministers continually serving this very purpose. 7 Render therefore to all their due. Provide tribute to whom tribute is due. Give custom to whom custom is owed. Render fear to whom fear is owed and offer honor to whom honor is deserved.

1 Timothy 5:17-18

17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching. 18 For the scripture said: »You must not muzzle the bull while he is threshing. The workman is worthy of his wages.«

Hebrews 13:4

4 Let marriage be honorable among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled: for God will judge fornicators and adulterers.

1 Samuel 2:30

30 »Jehovah, the God of Israel says: ‘I said indeed that your house and the house of your father should walk before me all the days of your life.’« Now Jehovah says: »Far be it from me. I will honor those who honor me. I will not regard those who think little of me.

1 Timothy 1:17

17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
