Psalms 91:1-16

1 He who lives under the shelter of the Most High will remain in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say to Jehovah: »You are my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.« 3 He is the one who will rescue you from the bird hunter’s trap (fowler’s snare) and from deadly plagues. 4 He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge. His truth is your shield and armor. 5 You will not be afraid of the terror of the night and arrows that fly during the day, 6 plagues that roam the dark, epidemics that strike at noon. 7 They will not come near you, even though a thousand may fall dead beside you or ten thousand at your right side. 8 You only have to look with your eyes to see the punishment of wicked people. 9 »You, O Jehovah, are my refuge!« You have made the Most High your home. 10 No harm will come to you. No sickness will come near your house. 11 He will put his angels in charge of you to protect you in all your ways. 12 They will carry you in their hands so that you never strike your foot against a rock. 13 You will step on lions and cobras. You will trample underfoot young lions and snakes. 14 Because you love me, I will rescue you. I will protect you because you know my name. 15 When you call to me, I will answer you. I will be with you when you are in trouble. I will deliver you and honor you. 16 I will satisfy you with a long life. I will show you my salvation.

Titus 2:12

12 instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present age (world) (period of time).

Galatians 6:7-9

7 Do not be deceived. God is not mocked! A man will harvest what he sows. 8 He that sows to his own flesh will harvest corruption of the flesh. But he that sows to the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. 9 Let us not grow tired of doing good things for in due season we shall harvest, if we do not faint.

2 Timothy 3:16

16 God inspired all Scripture! It is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness. (Greek: theopneustos: God-breathed)

1 John 5:3-5

3 For this is the love of God, that we obey his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. 4 Everything born from God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world, even our faith. 5 Who is the one who conquers (overcomes) (prevails over) the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Hebrews 4:15

15 We do not have a high priest who is not able to sympathize with our infirmities (weaknesses). He was tested in all things like ourselves. Yet he was without sin!

James 1:14

14 Each man is tempted when he is drawn away by his evil desire (lust). He is enticed (allured).

Ephesians 6:1-24

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. 2 Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise. 3 Then it will go well with you, and you may live long on the earth. 4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of God. 5 Servants, be obedient to those who according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of your heart, as to Christ. 6 This should not be in the way of eye service, as men-pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from a complete heart; 7 with goodwill doing service, as to God, and not to men. 8 You know that whatever good thing each person does, the same shall he receive again from God, whether he be slave or free. 9 You masters, do the same things to them. Do not threaten! You know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven. There is no favoritism with him. 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in his mighty strength. 11 Put on the full armor (every implement) of God, that you may be able to stand against the cunning (inventive) (clever) methods of the devil. 12 Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places. 13 For that reason, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore and gird your loins with truth. Put on the breastplate of righteousness. 15 Shod your feet with the preparation of the good news of peace. 16 Also take up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 With prayer and supplication pray at all times in the Spirit. Watch with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones. 19 Pray on my behalf, that ability to speak may be given to me, to make known with boldness the secret of the good news. 20 I am an ambassador in chains who should speak boldly. 21 That you also may know my affairs, how I do, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will make known to you all things. 22 I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know our state, and that he may comfort your hearts. 23 Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an incorruptible (sincere) (principled) (unending) love.

Proverbs 1:24-33

24 »I called you! I stretched out my hand to you. You paid no attention to me. 25 »You have ignored all my counsel. You accept no correction. 26 »I also will laugh at your trouble. I will mock when your fear comes. 27 »Trouble and distress will surround you like a whirlwind, like a great storm. 28 »You will ask for my help, but I will not listen. You will search, but you will not find me. 29 »You have no use for knowledge and you refuse to respect Jehovah. 30 »You rejected my advice and paid no attention when I warned you. 31 »Now you will get what you deserve for what you have done. Your own advice will make you sick. 32 »Sin and self-satisfaction bring destruction and death to stupid fools. 33 »Whoever listens to me will be secure and will be free from the fear of evil.«

James 4:17

17 He that knows to do good, and does not do it, to him it is sin.

Colossians 3:20

20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing in the Lord.

Romans 13:1-14

1 Let every person be subject to superior authorities. For there is no authority except by God. God allows the authorities to serve in their positions. 2 Whoever opposes the authority resists the ordinance of God. Those who resist will receive judgment. 3 For rulers are objects of fear, not to good works, but to the evil. Will you not have respect for the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from it. 4 He is the minister of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid for he does not bear the sword in vain. He is the minister of God, an avenger to execute wrath upon him that does evil. 5 You must be in subjection, not only because of that wrath, but also for the sake of your conscience. 6 That is why you pay taxes. They are God’s ministers continually serving this very purpose. 7 Render therefore to all their due. Provide tribute to whom tribute is due. Give custom to whom custom is owed. Render fear to whom fear is owed and offer honor to whom honor is deserved. 8 Owe no man any thing but to love one another. He that loves another has fulfilled (obeyed) the law. 9 For the Law code says: You must not commit adultery, you must not murder, you must not steal, you must not bear false witness, and you must not covet. If there is any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying; namely, you must love your neighbor as yourself. 10 Love works no ill to his neighbor. Therefore love is the law’s fulfillment. 11 You know the time. It is the hour for you to awake from sleep. Now our salvation is nearer than when we became believers. 12 The night is far along and the day is at hand. Let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk honestly as in the daytime, not in rioting and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and loose conduct, not in strife and jealousy. 14 Put on (live like) (clothe yourself with) the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not make provision for the desires of the flesh.
