20 teaching them to obey all things that I commanded you. And look, I am with you every day, even to the end of the age."

Acts 2:1-47

1 Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them. 4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak. 5 Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky. 6 When this sound was heard, the crowd came together, and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language. 7 They were all amazed and marveled, saying, "Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? 8 How do we hear, everyone in our own native language? 9 Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, 10 Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretans and Arabians: we hear them speaking in our tongues the mighty works of God." 12 They were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying one to another, "What does this mean?" 13 Others, mocking, said, "They are filled with new wine." 14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke out to them, "You men of Judea, and all you who dwell at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words. 15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose, seeing it is only the third hour of the day. 16 But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel: 17 'And it will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. 18 And even on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they will prophesy. 19 And I will show wonders in the sky above, and signs on the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and billows of smoke. 20 The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes. 21 And it will be that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.' 22 "Men of Israel, hear these words. Jesus the Nazorean, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him in the midst of you, even as you yourselves know, 23 him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed; 24 whom God raised up, having freed him from the pains of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it. 25 For David says concerning him, 'I saw the Lord always before me, for he is at my right hand, that I should not be shaken. 26 Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced, and moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope; 27 because you will not abandon my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay. 28 You made known to me the paths of life. You will make me full of joy in your presence.' 29 "Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that one of his descendants would sit on his throne, 31 he foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Messiah, that neither was he left in Sheol, nor did his flesh see decay. 32 This Jesus God raised up, to which we all are witnesses. 33 Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this, which you see and hear. 34 For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself, 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit by my right hand, 35 until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."' 36 "Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Messiah, this Jesus whom you crucified." 37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers, what should we do?" 38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself." 40 With many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, "Save yourselves from this crooked generation." 41 Then those who received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls. 42 They continued steadfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer. 43 Fear came on every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 All who believed were together, and had all things in common. 45 They sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need. 46 Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 praising God, and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

2 Corinthians 4:17

17 For this momentary light affliction is working for us a far more exceeding and everlasting weight of glory;

John 1:1-51

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and apart from him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of mankind. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn't overcome it. 6 There came a man, sent from God, whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify about the light, that all might believe through him. 8 He was not the light, but was sent that he might testify about the light. 9 The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, but the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to his own, and those who were his own did not receive him. 12 But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name, 13 who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only of the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 John testified about him and shouted out, saying, "This was the one of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me, for he was before me.'" 16 For of his fullness we all received, and grace upon grace. 17 For the Law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has seen God at any time. The only Son, who is at the Father's side, has made him known. 19 And this is John's testimony, when the Jewish leaders sent priests and Levites to him from Jerusalem to ask him, "Who are you?" 20 And he confessed, and did not deny, but he confessed, "I am not the Messiah." 21 And they asked him, "What then? Are you Elijah?" And he said, "I am not." "Are you the Prophet?" And he answered, "No." 22 They said therefore to him, "Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?" 23 He said, "I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Make straight the way of the Lord,' as Isaiah the prophet said." 24 (Now they had been sent from the Pharisees.) 25 And they asked him, "Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?" 26 John answered them, saying, "I baptize in water, but among you stands one whom you do not know. 27 He is the one who comes after me, whose sandal strap I'm not worthy to loosen." 28 These things were done in Bethany across the Jordan, where John was baptizing. 29 The next day, he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. 30 This is he of whom I said, 'After me comes a man who ranks ahead of me, because he existed before me.' 31 I did not know him, but for this reason I came baptizing in water: that he would be revealed to Israel." 32 And John testified, saying, "I saw the Spirit descending like a dove out of heaven, and it remained on him. 33 And I did not recognize him, but he who sent me to baptize in water, he said to me, 'On whomever you will see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, this is he who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.' 34 And I have seen and have testified that this is the Chosen One of God." 35 Again, the next day, John was standing with two of his disciples, 36 and he looked at Jesus as he walked, and said, "Look, the Lamb of God." 37 And the two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus. 38 And Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, "What are you looking for?" They said to him, "Rabbi" (which translated means Teacher), "where are you staying?" 39 He said to them, "Come, and you will see." They came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about the tenth hour. 40 One of the two who heard John, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. 41 He first found his own brother, Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah." (which is translated, Christ). 42 He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him, and said, "You are Simon the son of John. You will be called Cephas" (which is translated, Peter). 43 On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. And Jesus said to him, "Follow me." 44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, "We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and the Prophets wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." 46 And Nathanael said to him, "Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see." 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and said about him, "Look, a true Israelite in whom there is no deceit." 48 Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?" Jesus answered him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you." 49 Nathanael answered him, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God. You are King of Israel." 50 Jesus answered him, "Because I told you, 'I saw you underneath the fig tree,' do you believe? You will see greater things than these." 51 And he said to him, "Truly, truly, I tell you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."

Ezekiel 37:1-10

1 The hand of the LORD was on me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. 2 He caused me to pass by them all around: and look, there were very many in the open valley; and look, they were very dry. 3 He said to me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" I answered, "Lord GOD, you know." 4 Again he said to me, "Prophesy over these bones, and tell them, 'You dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.' 5 Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: 'Look, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. 6 I will lay sinews on you, and will bring up flesh on you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the LORD.'" 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and look, an earthquake; and the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8 I saw, and, look, there were sinews on them, and flesh came up, and skin covered them above; but there was no breath in them. 9 Then he said to me, "Prophesy to the wind, prophesy, son of man, and tell the wind, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: Come from the four winds, breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.'" 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up on their feet, an exceedingly great army.

Hebrews 11:1-10

1 Now faith is being confident of what we hope for, convinced about things we do not see. 2 For by this, the people of old were attested. 3 By faith, we understand that the ages were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen has not been made out of things which are visible. 4 By faith, Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he was attested as righteous, God testifying with respect to his gifts; and though he died he still speaks through it. 5 By faith, Enoch was taken away, so that he would not see death, "and he was not found, because God took him away." For before he was taken he was attested as having pleased God. 6 Now without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. 7 By faith, Noah, being warned about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared a ship for the salvation of his household, through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. 8 By faith, Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith, he sojourned in a land of promise, as a foreigner, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise. 10 For he looked for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

Romans 10:17

17 So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

Joshua 1:8

8 This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.

Genesis 1:1-31

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, and darkness was on the surface of the watery depths. And God's Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters. 3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good. And God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. There was evening and there was morning, one day. 6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." And it was so. 7 And God made the expanse, and divided the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse. 8 And God called the expanse Sky. And God saw that it was good. There was evening and there was morning, a second day. 9 And God said, "Let the waters under the sky be gathered together in one gathering, and let the dry land appear." And it was so. And the waters under the sky gathered to their gatherings, and the dry land appeared. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters he called Seas. And God saw that it was good. 11 And God said, "Let the earth produce vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind, with its seed in it, on the earth." And it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, with its seed in it, after their kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 There was evening and there was morning, a third day. 14 And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and for years; 15 and let them be for lights in the expanse of sky to give light on the earth." And it was so. 16 And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. 17 And God set them in the expanse of sky to give light to the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day. 20 And God said, "Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of sky." And it was so. 21 And God created the large sea creatures, and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth." 23 There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day. 24 And God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind, livestock, creeping things, and animals of the earth after their kind." And it was so. 25 And God made the animals of the earth after their kind, and the livestock after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind. And God saw that it was good. 26 And God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 And God created man in his own image. In Godʼs image he created him; male and female he created them. 28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." 29 And God said, "Look, I have given you every plant yielding seed, which is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree, which bears fruit yielding seed. It will be your food. 30 To every animal of the earth, and to every bird of the sky, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green plant for food." And it was so. 31 And God saw everything that he had made, and look, it was very good. There was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.

Romans 4:17

Matthew 12:34-36

34 You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. 35 The good person out of his good treasure brings out good things, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings out evil things. 36 But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
