¹³ Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he will also cry out, but shall not be heard.

⁹ He who has a generous eye will be blessed; for he shares his food with the poor.

⁴² And whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink because he is a disciple, truly I tell you he will in no way lose his reward."

⁶ Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. ⁷ Each person should give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver.

¹⁷ But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him?

¹⁷ He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD; he will reward him.

²¹ for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

¹⁷ Charge those who are rich in this present world that they not be haughty, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy; ¹⁸ that they do good, that they be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, willing to communicate; ¹⁹ laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold of that which is truly life.

¹ He looked up, and saw the rich people who were putting their gifts into the treasury. ² He saw a certain poor widow casting in two lepta. ³ He said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow put in more than all of them, ⁴ for all these put in gifts from their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, put in all that she had to live on."

²⁴ There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty. ²⁵ The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself.

³⁸ "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the same measure you measure it will be measured back to you."

³⁵ In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"
