³⁶ Teacher, which is the great command in the law? ³⁷ Jesus said to him: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might, and with all thy mind. ³⁸ This is the great and first command. ³⁹ And the second, which is like it, is, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. ⁴⁰ On these two commands hang the law and the prophets.

¹⁵ If ye love me, keep my commands.

¹³ For these three things are abiding, faith, and hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.

But prophesyings will end; and tongues will be silent; and knowledge will vanish. ⁹ For we know but partially; and we prophesy but partially. ¹⁰ But when completeness shall come, then that which is partial will vanish away. ¹¹ When I was a child, I talked as a child, and I reasoned as a child, and I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I laid aside the things of childhood. ¹² And now we see, as by a mirror, in similitude; but then face to face: now I know partially; but then shall I know, just as I am known. ¹³ For these three things are abiding, faith, and hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.

⁸ And above all things, have fervent love one towards another; for love covereth a multitude of sins.

¹⁹ Let us, therefore, love God; because he hath first loved us.

¹⁸ In love there is no fear; but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear existeth in peril, and he that feareth is not perfected in love.

⁷ My beloved, let us love one another: because love is from God; and whoever loveth, is born of God and knoweth God.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as the Messiah loved his church, and delivered himself up for it;

³⁴ A new commandment I give to you, that ye be affectionate to each other. As I have loved you, do ye also love one another. ³⁵ By this will every one know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love for each other.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him, should not perish, but should have life eternal.

¹³ There is no greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

⁸ Because God is love; and whoever loveth not, doth not know God.

¹⁴ And with all these, join love, which is the girdle of perfection.

¹⁴ Let all your affairs be conducted with love.
