²⁹ Let no fylthy communication procede out of your mouthes: but that whiche is good to edefye wyth all, when nede is: that it maye haue fauoure with the hearers.

⁴ neyther fylthynes, neyther folyshe talkinge, neither gestinge whiche are not comely: but rather geuinge of thankes.

⁶ A scorneful body seketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowlege is easy to come by, vnto him that wyl vnderstand ⁷ Se that thou meddle not with a foole, and do as though thou haddest no knowledge. ⁸ The wysdome of hym that hath vnderstanding is, to take hede vnto hys way but the folyshnes of the vnwyse disceaueth. ⁹ Foles make but a sporte of synne, but ther is fauourable loue amonge the rightuous.

² And fashyon not youre selues lyke vnto thys worlde. But be ye chaunged in youre shape, by the renuynge of youre wyttes, that ye may fele what thynge that good, that acceptable, and perfect wyll of God is.

⁵ Yf anye of you lacke wysedome, let hym axe of God whiche geueth to all men indyfferentlye, and casteth no man in the teath: and it shal be geuen hym.

⁴ Wherin take ye your pleasure? Vpon whom gape ye with your mouth and bleare out your tonge? Are ye not children of aduoutry, and a sede of dissimulacion?

³ This fyrst vnderstande, that there shall come in the laste dayes mockers, which wyll walke after their own lustes ⁴ and say. Where is the promes of hys comminge? For sence the fathers dyed, al thinges continue in the same estate, wherin they were at the beginninge. ⁵ This they knowe not (and that willinglie) howe that the heauens a greate whyle ago were, & the earth that was in the water, appered vp out of the water by the worde of God, ⁶ by the which thinges, the worlde that then was, perished ouer flowen with the water. ⁷ But the heauens verely and earth, which are now are kept by the same worde in store, and reserued vnto fyre, agaynste the daye of iudgemente, and perdycyon of vngodlye men.

¹² A scorneful body loueth not one that rebuketh hym, nether wyll he come amonge the wyse.

¹ O blessed is the man, that goeth not in the counsayll of the vngodly: that abydeth not in the waie of sinners and sitteth not in the seate of the scorneful.

⁵ Who so laugheth the pore to scorne blasphemeth hys maker: & he that is glad of another mans hurt, shall not be vnpunished.
