11 and went into the house, and found the chylde with Mary his mother, and kneled doune & worshypped him, and opened their treasures and offred to him giftes golde, frankinsence and myrre.

Matthew 2:1-23

1 When Iesus was born at Bethleem in Iurye, in the time of Herode the kinge: Beholde there came wise men from the east to Ierusalem 2 sayinge. Where is he that is borne kinge of Iewes? We haue sene his star in the east, and are come to worshyppe hym. 3 When Herode the kinge had herde this, he was troubled, and al Ierusalem with him, 4 and he gathered al the chiefe priestes and scribes of the people, & axed of them where Christe shoulde be borne. 5 And they sayd vnto hym: at Bethleem in Iury. For thus it is wrytten by the prophete. 6 And thou Bethleem in the land of Iury, art not the least concerning the Princes of Iuda. For out of the shal come the captaine, that shall gouerne my people Israel. 7 Then Herode preuily called the wyse men, and diligently enquired of them, the tyme of the starre that apeared, 8 and sent them to Bethleem sayinge: Go and searche diligentlye for the childe. And when ye haue founde hym, bringe me worde, that I may come and worshyppe him also. 9 When they hearde the kynge, they departed: and lo the starre which they sawe in the east went before them, tyll it came and stode ouer the place wher the childe was. 10 When they sawe the starre, they were maruelously glad: 11 and went into the house, and found the chylde with Mary his mother, and kneled doune & worshypped him, and opened their treasures and offred to him giftes golde, frankinsence and myrre. 12 And after they were warned of God in a dreame, that they should not go agayne to Herode, they retourned into their owne countre another waye. 13 When they were departed: Beholde the aungell of the Lorde appeared to Ioseph in a dreame sayinge. Aryse, and take the chylde & his mother, and flee into Egipte, and abyde there tyll I bringe the worde. For Herode wil seke the chylde to destroye him. 14 Then he arose and toke the chylde and his mother by night and departed into Egypte, 15 and was there vnto the death of Herode to fulfyll that whiche was spoken of the Lord by the prophete, which saieth out of Egipt haue I called my sonne. 16 Then Herode perceauing that he was mocked of the wyse men, was excedinge wroth, & sent forth and slue al the children that were in Bethleem, and in all the costes therof, as many as were two yere olde and vnder according to the time which he had diligently searched out of the wise men. 17 Then was fulfylled that which was spoken by the prophete Ieremy sayinge: 18 On the hilles was a voice hearde, morning, weping & great lamentacion: Rachel weping for her children, & would not be comforted because thei were no 19 When Herode was dead: beholde, an aungel of the Lorde appeared in a dreame to Iosephe in Egip 20 sayinge: arise and take the childe and his mother, & go into the lande of Israel. For they are dead which sought the childes life. 21 Then he arose vp, and toke the childe and his mother, & came into the lande of Israell. 22 But when he hearde that Archelaus did raygne in Iurye, in the roume of his father Herode, he was afraide to go thither. Notwithstanding after he was warned of God in a dreame, he turned a syde into the partyes of Galile, 23 & went & dwelt in a citie called Nazareth, to fulfyl that which was spoken by the prophetes: he shalbe called a Nazarite.
