²⁶ And God sayde: let vs make man in oure similitude & after our lycknesse: that he may haue rule ouer the fysh of the sea, and ouer the foules of the ayre, & ouer catell, and ouer all the erth, and ouer all wormes that crepe on the erth.

¹ A Psalme of Dauid. The earth is the Lordes, & all that therin is: the compase of the world, & al that dwell therein. ² For he hath founded it vpon the seas, and buylded it vpon the floudes. ³ Who shall go vp into the hyll of the Lord? Or who shal remayne in his holy place? ⁴ Euen he that hath innocent handes and a cleane hert: which lifteth not vp his minde vnto vanite, and sweareth not to disceaue. ⁵ He shal receaue the blessing from the Lord, and mercy from God his sauiour. ⁶ This is the generation of them that seke hym, of them that seke thy face, O Iacob. Selah. ⁷ Open your gates (O ye princes) lette the euerlastynge dores be opened, that the kyng of glory may come in. ⁸ Who is this kyng of glory? It is the Lorde strong and myghtie, euen the Lorde myghty in batell. ⁹ Open youre gates (O ye princes) let the euerlastynge dores be opened, that the kyng of glory may come in. ¹⁰ Who is this king of glory? It is the Lord of Hoostes, he is the kynge of glorye. Selah.

³ He healeth the contryte in herte, and byndeth vp their woundes.

¹ The spirite of the Lorde God is with me, for the Lorde hath annointed me, & sent me, to preache good tydinges vnto the poore, that I myght binde vp the wounded hertes, that I myght preach delyueraunce to the captyue, and open the preson to them that are bounde:

¹¹ For I knowe what I haue deuysed for you sayeth the Lorde. My thoughtes are to geue you peace, and not trouble (whiche I geue you all redye) & that ye might haue hope agayn.

²⁸ euen as the sonne of man came not to be minnistred vnto, but to minister, and to geue his life for the redempcion of many.

²⁵ But Iesus called them vnto hym and sayd: Ye know that the Lordes of the gentils haue domination ouer them. And they that are great, exercyse power ouer them. ²⁶ It shall not be so amonge you. But whosoeuer wil be great amonge you, let hym be your minister, ²⁷ and whosoeuer wil be chief, let hym be your seruaunt, ²⁸ euen as the sonne of man came not to be minnistred vnto, but to minister, and to geue his life for the redempcion of many.

¹ The same tyme the disciples came vnto Iesus sayinge: who is the greatest in the kyngdom of heauen ² Iesus called a chylde vnto hym, and set hym in the middes of them: ³ and sayde. Verely I saye vnto you: excepte ye tourne, and become as chyldren, ye cannot enter into the kyngedome of heauen. ⁴ Who soeuer therfore humble hym selfe as thys chylde, the same is the greatest in the kyngedom of heauen. ⁵ And whosoeuer receyueth suche a chylde in my name, receyueth me.

¹⁰ Be not called masters: for there is but one your master: and he is Christ. ¹¹ He that is greatest amonge you: shalbe your seruaunt. ¹² But whosoeuer exalteth hym selfe: shalbe brought lowe, and he that humbleth hym selfe, shalbe exalted.

²⁸ For I saye vnto you: a greater Prophete then Ihon, amonge womens children is ther none. Neuerthelesse one that is lesse in the kingdome of God, is greater then he.

²⁸ For we knowe that all thynges worke for the beste vnto them that loue God, whyche also are called of purpose.

²⁰ I am crucyfyed with Christ. I lyue verelye: yet now not I, but Christe lyueth in me. For the lyfe which I now lyue in the, flesh I lyue by the faythe of the sonne of God whiche loued me, and gaue hym selfe for me.

¹ Thought I speake with tounges of men and angels, and yet had no loue, I were euen as soundinge brasse, or as a tynklinge Cimbal. ² And though I could prophecye, and vnderstande all secretes, and all knowledge: yea, yf I had all fayth so that I coulde moue mountaines out of theyr places, and yet had no loue, I were nothing. ³ And thought I bestowed all my goodes to fede the pore, and though I gaue my bodye euen that I burned, and yet had no loue, it profeteth me nothinge. ⁴ Loue suffreth longe, and is curteous. Loue enuieth not. Loue doth not frowardelye, swelleth not, dealeth not dishonestlye, ⁵ seketh not her owne, is not prouoketh to anger, thinketh not euil, ⁶ reioiceth not in iniquitie: but reioiseth in the trueth, ⁷ suffreth all thinge, beleueth all thinges, hopeth al thinges, endureth in all thinges. ⁸ Though that propheciynge fayle, other tounges shall cease, or knowledge vanishe awaye, yet loue falleth neuer awaye. ⁹ For oure knowledge is vnperfect, & oure prophesiynge is vnperfecte. ¹⁰ But when that which is perfect, is come: then that which is vnperfect, shal be done awaye: ¹¹ When I was a child, I spake as a chylde, I vnderstode as a child, I Imagined as a chylde. But assone as I was a man, I put away childishnes. ¹² Nowe we se in a glasse euen in a darke speakinge, but then shall we se face to face. Nowe I knowe vnperfectlye, but then shall I knowe euen as I am knowen. ¹³ Nowe abideth fayth, hope, and loue, euen these thre: but the chiefe of these is loue.

¹⁷ For the Lord your God, he is god of Goddes, and Lorde of Lordes, a greate God, a myghty and a terrible whych regardeth no mans person, nor taketh giftes:

⁶ Thou haste set him aboue the workes of thy handes: and thou hast put all thynges in subiection vnder his fete.

¹⁵ For he shalbe greate in the syght of the Lorde, and shall neyther drinke wyne nor stronge drinke. And he shalbe fylled with the holy ghost, euen in his mothers wombe:

⁵ when God sendeth oute hys voyce: greate thynges doth he, whiche we can not comprehende.

²¹ Thou hast brought me to great honoure, and comforted me on euery syde.

² And fashyon not youre selues lyke vnto thys worlde. But be ye chaunged in youre shape, by the renuynge of youre wyttes, that ye may fele what thynge that good, that acceptable, and perfect wyll of God is.

¹³ I can do al thinges thorowe the helpe of Christe whiche strengtheth me.
