⁴⁷ And because thou seruedest not the Lord thy God wyth ioyfulnesse and with a good herte for the abundaunce of all thinges, ⁴⁸ therfore thou shalt serue thyne enemye which the Lord shall sende vpon the: in hunger and thrust, in nakednesse and in nede of all thynge: & he shall put a yocke of yeron vpon thyne necke, vntyll he haue broughte the to nought.

¹⁹ Derely beloued auenge not youre selues, but geue roume vnto the wrathe of God. For it is wrytten: vengeaunce is myne, and I wyll rewarde sayeth the Lorde.

⁵ Thys man putteth difference betwene day and daye. Another man counted all dayes a lyke. Se that no man wauer in hys owne meanynge.

⁹ Let loue be without dissimulacyon. Hate that whiche is euyll, and cleaue vnto that which is good. ¹⁰ Be kynde one to another with brotherlye loue. In geuynge honoure, go one before another. ¹¹ Let not the busynes whiche ye haue in hande, be tedyous to you. Be feruente in the spirite. Applye youre selues to the time. ¹² Reioyce in hope. Be pacyent in trybulacyon. Contynue in prayer. ¹³ Distribute vnto the necessitie of the Saynctes, and be diligente to harboure. ¹⁴ Blesse them whiche persecute you: blesse, but cursse not. ¹⁵ Be merye with them that are merye. Wepe with them that wepe. ¹⁶ Be of lyke affeccyon one towardes an other. Be not hyghe mynded, but make youre selues equall to them of the lower sorte. Be not wyse in youre owne opinions. ¹⁷ Recompence to no man euyll for euyll. ¹ Lykewyse let the wyues be in subiectyon to theyr husbandes, that euen they which beleue not the worde, maye wythoute the worde be wonne by the conuersation of the wiues: ² whyle they beholde your pure conuersacion coupled wyth feare. ³ Whose apparell shall not be outewarde wyth broyeded heare, and hangynge on of golde, other in puttynge on of gorgyous apparell: ⁴ but let the hyd man of the harte be vncorrupte with a meke and a quyete spyryte, whiche spyryte is before God a thynge muche set by. ⁵ For after thys maner in the olde tyme dyd the holye women whiche trusted in God, tyer them selues, and were obedyente to theyr husbandes ⁶ euen as Sara obeyed Abraham, and called hym Lorde: whose doughters ye are as longe as ye do well, and be not afrayde of euerye shadowe. ⁷ Lykewyse ye men dwell wyth them accordynge to knoweledge, geuynge honoure vnto the wyfe, as vnto the weaker vessell, and as vnto them that are heyres also of the grace of lyfe, that youre prayers be not let. ⁸ In conclusyon be ye all of one mynd, one suffer wyth another, loue as brethren, be petifull, be curteous, ⁹ not rendringe euyll for euyll, neyther rebuke for rebuke, but contrarywyse, blesse, remembryng that ye are thervnto called, euen that ye shoulde be heyres of blessinge. ¹⁰ If anye man longe after lyfe, and loueth to se good dayes, let him refrayne his tonge from euil, & his lippes that they speake not gyle. ¹¹ Let hym eschue euyll and do good, let him seke peace, and ensue it. ¹² For the eyes of the Lorde are ouer the rightuous, and his eares are open vnto theyr prayers. But the face of the Lorde beholdeth them that do euil. ¹³ Morouer who is it that wyll harme you, yf ye folowe that whiche is good? ¹⁴ Notwithstanding happy are ye, yf ye suffre for ryghtuousnes sake. Yea and feare not though they seme terrible vnto you, neither be troubled, ¹⁵ but sanctifie the Lorde God in your hertes. Be ready alwaies to geue an answere to euery man that axeth you a reason of the hope, that is in you, and that with mekenes & feare, ¹⁶ hauinge a good conscience, that when they backbyte you as euyl doers, they maye be ashamed, for as muche as they haue falsely accused your good conuersation in Christ. ¹⁷ It is better (yf the wyll of God be so) that ye suffre for wel doyng, then for euil doinge. ¹⁸ For as much as Christ hath ones suffered for sinners, the iuste for the vniuste, for to bringe vs to God, and was kylled, as perteininge to the fleshe: but was quickened in the spirite.

¹¹ A chylde is knowen by hys conuersacion, whether hys workes be pure & right.

¹ Ivdge not, that ye be not iudged. ² For as ye iudge so, shall ye be iudged. And with what measur ye meate, with the same shal it be measured to you agayne.

³⁸ Ye haue hearde how it is sayed, an eye for an eye: a tothe for a tothe. ³⁹ But I saye to you that ye resyst not wrong. But who soeuer geue the a blowe on the right cheke, tourne to hym the other.

²⁷ And he aunswered and sayde: Loue thy Lorde God with all thy hert, and with al thy soule, and with all thy mynde, and thy neyghboure as thy selfe.

⁴ For he is the minister of GOD, for thy welth. But and yf thou do euyll, then feare: for he beareth not a swearde for noughte, but is the minister of God, to take vengeaunce on them that do euyll.

³ So that fornicacion and vncleanes, or couetousnes be not ones named amonge you, as it becommeth sainctes: ⁴ neyther fylthynes, neyther folyshe talkinge, neither gestinge whiche are not comely: but rather geuinge of thankes.

¹⁵ Yf ye loue me, kepe my commaundementes
