² but swearing, lying, manslaughter, theft, and adultery have gotten the overhand; and one bloodguiltiness followeth another.

¹⁶ Are ye not aware that ye are the temple of God, and how that the spirit of God dwelleth in you?

¹² But above all things, my brethren, swear not: neither by heaven, neither by earth, neither by any other oath. Let your yea be "yea," and your nay, "nay," lest ye fall into hypocrisy.

⁴ neither filthiness, neither foolish talking, neither jestings, which are not comely: but rather giving of thanks. ⁵ For this ye know, that no whoremonger, either unclean person, or covetous person, which is the worshipper of images, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ, and of God.

²⁹ Let no filthy communication proceed out of your mouths: but that which is good to edify withal, when need is, that it may have favour with the hearers.
