Mark 2:1-28

1 After a few days he entered into Capernaum again, and it was noised that he was in a house: 2 And anon many gathered together, insomuch that now there was no room to receive them: no, not so much as about the door. And he preached the word unto them. 3 And there came unto him, that brought one sick of the palsy, borne of four men: 4 and because they could not come nigh unto him for press, they uncovered the roof of the house where he was. And when they had broken it open, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the sick of the palsy, "Son, thy sins are forgiven thee." 6 And there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, 7 "How doth this fellow so blaspheme? Who can forgive sins, but God only?" 8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit, that they so reasoned in themselves, he said unto them, "Why think ye such things in your hearts? 9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy; thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, arise, take up thy bed and walk? 10 That ye may know that the son of man hath power in earth to forgive sins," he spake unto the sick of the palsy, 11 "I say unto thee, Arise and take up thy bed, and get thee hence into thine own house." 12 And by and by he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all: insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God saying, "We never saw it on this fashion." 13 And he went out again unto the sea, and all the people resorted unto him, and he taught them. 14 And as Jesus passed by, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sit at the receipt of custom and said unto him, "Follow me." And he arose and followed him. 15 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat at meat also with Jesus and his disciples. For there were many that followed him. 16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, "How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?" 17 When Jesus heard that, he said unto them, "The whole have no need of the Physician: but the sick. I came not to call the righteous, but the sinners to repentance." 18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees did fast, and they therefore came and said unto him, "Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, and thy disciples fast not?" 19 And Jesus said unto them, "Can the children of a wedding fast, while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. 20 But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken from them and then shall they fast in those days. 21 Also no man seweth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for then taketh he away the new piece from the old, and so is the rent worse. 22 In like wise, no man poureth new wine into old vessels, for if he do, the new wine breaketh the vessels, and the wine runneth out, and the vessels are marred. But new wine must be poured into new vessels." 23 And it chanced that he went through the corn fields on the Sabbath day; and his disciples, as they went on their way, began to pluck the ears of corn. 24 And the Pharisees said unto him, "Behold, why do they on the Sabbath day that which is not lawful?" 25 And he said to them, "Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was a hungered both he and they that were with him? 26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the hallowed loaves, which is not lawful but for the priests only to eat: and gave also to them which were with him?" 27 And he said to them, "The Sabbath day was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath day. 28 Wherefore, the son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath day."

1 Then resorted unto him all the publicans and sinners, for to hear him. 2 And the Pharisees, and scribes murmured, saying, "He received to his company sinners, and eateth with them."

John 8:44

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father, ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning; And abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, then speaketh he of his own. For he is a liar, and the father thereof.

1 John 3:5-10

5 And ye know that he appeared to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him. 6 All that abide in him, sin not: And all that sin hath not seen him, neither hath known him. 7 Little children, let no man beguile you; He that worketh righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil: for the devil sinneth since the beginning. But for this cause appeared the son of God, even to destroy the works of the devil. 9 All that are born of God do no sin, for his seed abideth in them, and they cannot sin, because they be born of God. 10 And hereby are the sons of God known, and also the sons of the devil. All that work not righteousness, are not of God, nor he that loveth not his brother.

2 Peter 3:9

1 John 5:16
