Bible verses about "debtors" | MSTC

Matthew 18:23-33

23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain King, which would take accounts of his servants. 24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents: 25 Whom, because he had nought to pay, his Master commanded him to be sold: and his wife, and his children, and all that he had; and payment to be made. 26 The servant fell down and besought him saying, 'Sir, give me respite, and I will pay it every whit.' 27 Then had the Lord pity on that servant, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. 28 And the said servant went out and found one of his fellows, which owed him a hundred pence. And laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, 'Pay me that thou owest.' 29 And his fellow fell down, and besought him, saying, 'Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.' 30 And he would not, but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt. 31 When his other fellows saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their Lord all that had happened. 32 Then his Lord called him, and said unto him, 'O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou praydest me: 33 Was it not mete also, that thou shouldest have had compassion on thy fellow, even as I had pity on thee?'

Psalms 37:21

21 The ungodly borroweth, and payeth not again, but the righteous is merciful and liberal.

Matthew 6:9-13

9 After this manner, therefore, pray ye: O our father, which art in heaven hallowed be thy name. 10 Let thy kingdom come. Thy will be fulfilled, as well in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our trespasses, even as we forgive our trespassers. 13 Lead us not into temptation: but deliver us from evil, For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory for ever. Amen.

Exodus 20:1-17

1 And God spake all these words, and said, 2 "I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt and out of the house of bondage. 3 Thou shalt have none other gods in my sight. 4 "Thou shalt make thee no graven image, neither any similitude that is in heaven above, either in the earth beneath, or in the water that is beneath the earth. 5 See that thou neither bow thyself unto them neither serve them: for I, the LORD thy God, am a jealous God, and visit the sin of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me: 6 and yet show mercy unto thousands among them that love me and keep my commandments. 7 "Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. 8 "Remember the Sabbath day that thou sanctify it. 9 Six days mayest thou labour and do all that thou hast to do: 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God, in it thou shalt do no manner work: neither thou nor thy son, nor thy daughter, neither thy manservant nor thy maidservant, neither thy cattle neither yet the stranger that is within thy gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made both heaven and earth and the sea and all that in them is and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. 12 "Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. 13 "Thou shalt not kill. 14 "Thou shalt not break wedlock. 15 "Thou shalt not steal. 16 "Thou shalt bear no false witness against thy neighbor. 17 "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house: neither shalt covet thy neighbor's wife, his manservant, his maid, his ox, his ass or ought that is his."

Romans 13:1-14

1 Let every soul submit himself unto the authority of the higher powers. For there is no power, but of God. The powers that be, are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth power, resisteth the ordinance of God. And they that resist, shall receive to themselves damnation. 3 For rulers are not to be feared for good works but for evil. Wilt thou be without fear of the power? Do well then: and so shalt thou be praised of the same. 4 For he is the minister of God, for thy wealth. But and if thou do evil, then fear: for he beareth not a sword for nought; but is the minister of God, to take vengeance on them that do evil. 5 Wherefore ye must needs obey, not for fear of vengeance only: but also because of conscience. 6 And even for this cause pay ye tribute. For they are God's ministers, serving for the same purpose. 7 Give to every man therefore his duty: Tribute to whom tribute belongeth: Custom to whom custom is due: fear to whom fear belongeth: Honour to whom honour pertaineth. 8 Owe nothing to any man: but to love one another. For he that loveth another, fulfilleth the law. 9 For these commandments: Thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness, thou shalt not desire, and so forth: if there be any other commandment, they are all comprehended in this saying, "Love thine neighbor as thyself." 10 Love hurteth not his neighbor: Therefore is love the fulfilling of the law. 11 This also we know, I mean the season: how that it is time that we should now awake out of sleep. For now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. 12 The night is past and the day is come nigh. Let us therefore cast away the deeds of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. 13 Let us walk honestly as it were in the daylight: not in eating and drinking: neither in chambering and wantonness: neither in strife and envying: 14 but put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ. And make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts of it.

Psalms 37:21-22

21 The ungodly borroweth, and payeth not again, but the righteous is merciful and liberal. 22 Such as are blessed of God shall possess the land; and they that are cursed of him shall be rooted out.

Matthew 5:26

26 I say unto ye verily, Thou shalt not come out thence, till thou have paid the utmost farthing.
