Bible verses about "fishing" | MNT

Matthew 17:24-27

24 As they came into Capernaum the collectors of the temple tax came to Peter and asked, "Does not your Teacher pay the temple tax?" 25 "Indeed he does," answered Peter. But on Peter's entering the house, Jesus forestalled him, saying. "How does it seem to you, Simon? From whom do earthly kings collect customs or taxes—from their own people, or from aliens?" 26 And when he replied, "From aliens," Jesus said: "Then their people go free. 27 "Nevertheless, that we may not give offense, go to the seaside, throw in your hook; take the first fish that rises, and when you have opened its mouth, you will find a shekel in it. Take it and give it to them for us both."

John 21:6

Mark 1:14-20

14 After John had been thrown into prison Jesus came into Galilee preaching the gospel of God. 15 "The time is now come," he said, "and the kingdom of God is near! Repent and believe the gospel." 16 And as he was passing along by the sea of Galilee he saw Simon and Andrew, Simon's brother, casting their net into the sea, for they were fishermen; 17 so Jesus said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men." 18 At once they left their nets and followed him. 19 As he went a little farther on he saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in their boat mending the nets. 20 Straightway he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants and went after him.

Luke 5:4-6

4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Push out into deep water, and let down your nets for a haul." 5 "Master," answered Simon, "although we toiled all night, we took nothing; but at your bidding I will let down the nets." 6 And when they had done this they enclosed a great multitude of fish; and their nets began to break.
