¹ And God blessed Noah and his sons. And He said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. ² And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon the animals of the earth, and upon every bird of the air, upon all that moves on the earth, and upon all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered. ³ Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herb. ⁴ But you shall not eat of flesh with the life in it, or the blood of it. ⁵ and surely the blood of your lives will I require. At the hand of every animal will I require it, and at the hand of man. At the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. ⁶ Whoever sheds man's blood, his blood shall be shed by man; for He made man in the image of God. ⁷ And you be fruitful and multiply. Bring forth abundantly in the earth, and increase in it. ⁸ And God spoke to Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, ⁹ Behold! I, even I, establish My covenant with you, and with your seed after you; ¹⁰ and with every living creature that is with you, of the birds, of the cattle, and of every animal of the earth with you; from all that go out from the ark, to every animal of the earth. ¹¹ And I will establish My covenant with you. Neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood. Neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. ¹² And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between Me and you and every living creature with you, for everlasting generations: ¹³ I set my rainbow in the cloud. And it shall be a token of a covenant between Me and the earth. ¹⁴ And it shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud. ¹⁵ And I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. ¹⁶ And the rainbow shall be in the cloud. And I will look upon it that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. ¹⁷ And God said to Noah, This is the token of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is upon the earth. ¹⁸ And the sons of Noah that went out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And Ham is the father of Canaan. ¹⁹ These are the three sons of Noah, and the whole earth was overspread from them. ²⁰ And Noah began to be a husbandman. And he planted a vineyard. ²¹ And he drank of the wine and was drunk. And he was uncovered inside his tent. ²² And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. ²³ And Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it upon both their shoulders. And they went backwards and covered the nakedness of their father. And their faces were backwards, and they did not see their father's nakedness. ²⁴ And Noah awoke from his wine, and came to know what his younger son had done to him. ²⁵ And he said, Cursed be Canaan. He shall be a servant of servants to his brothers. ²⁶ And he said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Shem, and Canaan shall be his servant. ²⁷ God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem. And Canaan shall be their servant. ²⁸ And Noah lived three hundred and fifty years after the flood. ²⁹ And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years. And he died.

⁹ Therefore, know that Jehovah your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations.

⁶ And I said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to You, my God. For our iniquities have increased over our heads, and our guiltiness has grown up to the heavens. ⁷ Since the days of our fathers we have been in a great sin until this day. And for our iniquities we, our kings, our priests, have been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to shame of face, as it is this day. ⁸ And now for a little time grace has been shown from Jehovah our God, to leave us a remnant to escape and to give us a nail in His holy place, so that our God may enlighten our eyes and give us a little life in our bondage. ⁹ For we were slaves, yet our God has not left us in our bondage, but has given mercy to us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us some life, to set up the house of our God, and to repair its waste, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem. ¹⁰ And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? For we have forsaken Your commandments ¹¹ which You commanded by Your servants the prophets, saying, The land into which you go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations which have filled it from one end to the other with their uncleanness. ¹² And now do not give your daughters to their sons, nor take their daughters to your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth forever, so that you may be strong and eat the good of the land and leave it for an inheritance to your sons forever. ¹³ And after all that has come on us for our evil deeds and for our great sin, since You our God have punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and have given us such an escape as this, ¹⁴ should we again break Your commandments and join hands with the people of these abominations? Would You not be angry with us until You had crushed us, until there is no remnant nor survivor? ¹⁵ O Jehovah, the God of Israel, You are righteous. For we are left a remnant that has escaped, as today. Behold, we are before You in our sins, for we cannot stand before You because of this.

⁸ In a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you, says Jehovah your Redeemer. ⁹ For this is as the waters of Noah to Me; for as I swore that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so I have sworn from being angry with you and from rebuking you. ¹⁰ For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall the covenant of My peace be removed, says Jehovah who has mercy on you.

¹⁸ For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the coming glory to be revealed in us.

¹³ I set my rainbow in the cloud. And it shall be a token of a covenant between Me and the earth.

³ And He who sat there looked like a jasper stone and a sardius. And a rainbow was around the throne, looking like an emerald.

¹⁶ And the rainbow shall be in the cloud. And I will look upon it that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

²⁸ As the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain looks, so the brightness all around looked. This was how the likeness of the glory of Jehovah looked. And I saw. And I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking.

¹ And I saw another mighty angel coming down out of the heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, and his face was as the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire.
