¹³ And it happened, when Joshua was beside Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked. And, behold, there stood a Man in front of him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, Are You for us, or for our foes? ¹⁴ And He said, No, but I have come as the Commander of the army of Jehovah. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth. And he worshiped and said to Him, What does my Lord say to His servant? ¹⁵ And the Commander of Jehovah's army said to Joshua, Take your shoe off your foot, for the place on which you stand is holy. And Joshua did so.

⁵ Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.

⁴⁶ But while He yet talked with the people, behold, His mother and His brothers stood outside, desiring to speak with Him.

¹⁹ And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who are you? ²⁰ And he confessed and did not deny, but confessed, I am not the Christ. ²¹ And they asked him, What then? Are you Elijah? And he says, I am not. Are you that prophet? And he answered, No. ²² Then they said to him, Who are you so that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say of yourself? ²³ He said, I am "the voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord," as the prophet Isaiah said. ²⁴ And they who were sent were from the Pharisees. ²⁵ And they asked him and said, Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor that Prophet?

¹ And there appeared a great sign in the heavens, a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon was under her feet, and a crown of twelve stars on her head, ² and having a babe in womb, she cries, being in travail, having been distressed to bear. ³ And another sign was seen in the heavens. And behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads! ⁴ And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and cast them onto the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman being about to bear, so that when she bears he might devour her child. ⁵ And she bore a son, a male, who is going to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her child was caught up to God and to His throne. ⁶ And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God, so that they might nourish her there a thousand, two hundred and sixty days. ⁷ And there was war in Heaven. Michael and his angels warring against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels warred, ⁸ but did not prevail. Nor was place found for them in Heaven any more. ⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, the old serpent called Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. ¹⁰ And I heard a great voice saying in Heaven, Now has come the salvation and power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night. ¹¹ And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony. And they did not love their soul until death. ¹² Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and those tabernacling in them. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and in the sea! For the Devil came down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a little time. ¹³ And when the dragon saw that he was cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who bore the man child . ¹⁴ And two wings of a great eagle were given to the woman, so that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the serpent's face. ¹⁵ And the serpent cast out of his mouth water like a flood after the woman, so that he might cause her to be carried away by the river. ¹⁶ And the earth helped the woman. And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon cast out of his mouth. ¹⁷ And the dragon was enraged over the woman, and went to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

¹¹ And an angel of the Lord appeared to him as he was standing on the right of the altar of incense. ¹² And seeing this, Zacharias was troubled, and fear fell on him. ¹³ But the angel said to him, Do not fear, Zacharias. For your prayer is heard, and your wife Elizabeth shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. ¹⁴ And you shall have joy and gladness, and many shall rejoice at his birth. ¹⁵ For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall neither drink wine nor strong drink. And he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. ¹⁶ And he shall turn many of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God. ¹⁷ And he shall go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. ¹⁸ And Zacharias said to the angel, By what shall I know this? For I am old, and my wife is advanced in her days. ¹⁹ And answering, the angel said to him, I am Gabriel, who stands before God. And I am sent to speak to you and to show you these glad tidings. ²⁰ And behold, you shall be silent and not able to speak until the day that these things shall be performed, because you did not believe my words which shall be fulfilled in their time.

³⁵ And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit shall come on you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you. Therefore also that Holy One which will be born of you shall be called Son of God.

⁴ For it is a servant of God to you for good. For if you practice evil, be afraid, for it does not bear the sword in vain; for it is a servant of God, a revenger for wrath on him who does evil.

¹ Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but try the spirits to see if they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

²⁶ And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

⁹ But Michael, the archangel, when contending with the Devil, he argued about the body of Moses, he dared not bring a judgment of blasphemy, but said, Let the Lord rebuke you!

²¹ yes, while I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, touched me in my severe exhaustion, about the time of the evening sacrifice.

Blessed are you among women. ²⁹ And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what kind of greeting this might be.

You shall conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call His name JESUS. ³² He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Highest. And the Lord God shall give Him the throne of His father David. ³³ And He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there shall be no end. ³⁴ Then Mary said to the angel, How shall this be, since I do not know a man? ³⁵ And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit shall come on you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you. Therefore also that Holy One which will be born of you shall be called Son of God. ³⁶ And behold, your cousin Elizabeth also conceived a son in her old age. And this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. ³⁷ For with God nothing shall be impossible. ³⁸ And Mary said, Behold the servant of the Lord. Let it be to me according to your word. And the angel departed from her.
