¹⁶ For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

³¹ But these are written so that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you might have life in His name.

¹⁴ And the apostles in Jerusalem hearing that Samaria had received the Word of God, they sent Peter and John to them; ¹⁵ who when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. ¹⁶ For as yet He had not fallen on any of them, they were baptized only in the name of the Lord Jesus. ¹⁷ Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

⁶ Therefore I remind you to inflame anew the gift of God, which is in you by the putting on of my hands.

²² And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit.
