¹ A Song of degrees; of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity! ² It is like the precious ointment on the head that ran down on the beard, Aaron's beard, that went down to the mouth of his garments; ³ like the dew of Hermon that came down on the mountains of Zion; for there Jehovah commanded the blessing, life forevermore.

¹³ You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its savor, with what shall it be salted? It is no longer good for anything, but to be thrown out and to be trodden underfoot by men. ¹⁴ You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. ¹⁵ Nor do men light a lamp and put it under the grain-measure, but on a lampstand. And it gives light to all who are in the house. ¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.

²⁵ that there not be division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. ²⁶ And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is glorified, all the members rejoice with it. ²⁷ And you are the body of Christ, and members in part.

³ Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. ⁴ Do not let each man look upon his own things, but each man also on the things of others. ⁵ For let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, ⁶ who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, ⁷ but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. ⁸ And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. ⁹ Therefore God has highly exalted Him, and has given Him a name which is above every name, ¹⁰ that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of heavenly ones, and of earthly ones, and of ones under the earth; ¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. ¹² Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, cultivate your own salvation with fear and trembling. ¹³ For it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. ¹⁴ Do all things without murmurings and disputings, ¹⁵ so that you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation. Among these you shine as lights in the world, ¹⁶ holding forth the Word of Life, so that I may rejoice with you in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain nor labored in vain.

²⁰ For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst.

³⁷ Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. ³⁸ This is the first and great commandment. ³⁹ And the second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. ⁴⁰ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.

¹⁴ Now we exhort you, brothers, warn those who are unruly, comfort the faint-hearted, support the weak, be patient toward all.

³ For I say, through the grace given to me, to every one who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think. But set your mind to be right-minded, even as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith. ⁴ For even as we have many members in one body, and all members do not have the same function, ⁵ so we the many are one body in Christ, and each one members of one another. ⁶ Then having gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, if prophecy, according to the proportion of faith; ⁷ or ministry, in the ministry; or he who teaches, in the teaching; ⁸ or he who exhorts, in the encouragement; or he who shares, in simplicity; or he who takes the lead, in diligence; or he who shows mercy, in cheerfulness. ⁹ Let love be without hypocrisy, shrinking from evil, cleaving to good; ¹⁰ in brotherly love to one another, loving fervently, having led one another in honor. ¹¹ As to diligence, not slothful, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; ¹² rejoicing in hope, patient in affliction, steadfastly continuing in prayer, ¹³ distributing to the needs of the saints, pursuing hospitality.

⁹ Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. ¹⁰ For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he does not have another to help him. ¹¹ Again, if two lie together, then they have warmth; but how can one be warm alone? ¹² And if one overthrows him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

⁴² And they were continuing steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine, and in fellowship and in the breaking of the loaves, and in prayers. ⁴³ And fear came on every soul. And many wonders and miracles took place through the apostles. ⁴⁴ And all who believed were together and had all things common. ⁴⁵ And they sold their possessions and goods and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need. ⁴⁶ And continuing with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they shared food with gladness and simplicity of heart, ⁴⁷ praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

² Bear one another's burdens, and so you will fulfill the Law of Christ.

²⁴ and let us consider one another to provoke to love and to good works, ²⁵ not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
